Summmmmmmery

V

ery hot days call for very summery foods.

Like banana soft serve, chocolate vegan overnight oats.

Boom!

Banana Soft Serve, Chocolate Vegan Overnight Oats

Mix together the night before:

- Just under 1/2 cup oats (quick oats)
- 1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond breeze
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 scoop chia seeds

In the morning make banana soft serve:

- 1 frozen banana, broken into chunks
- About 1/4 cup almond breeze (a little at a time as needed)
- Mix in food processor for a couple minutes until smooth and soft serve like, or do in the vita-mix or other blender until smooth.
- Layer with the oats

This tastes far too good. It is hard to believe that it is extremely healthy. It was cold, delicious and filling.

Lunch was a giant spinach salad, with mixed beans, and tomato. The dressing was a raspberry walnut vinaigrette.

Dinner was a BBQ'd burger with some tater tots dipped in hot sauce.

My body was HURTING bad today from Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I am still so sore! I am literally walking funny. Until my body gets used to Jillian's beating, I will do the workout 3 times a week, taking a day off in between. On the days off I will swim or bike.

Have you ever shredded?
What kind of workout do you do when your muscles are super sore?

Your overnight oats looks amazingly good. Kinda looks like a milkshake!

I have only done shred a couple of times and liked it, but preferred the gym more.
When your muscles are sore, the best thing for me is to keep moving- light walking, elliptical, etc. so that you don't get too stiff sitting. Also stretch a little and see if that helps :)

When I popped in 30ds I wouldn't do it daily. I did it like 3 times a week or so and the other days I jogged or ellipticalled my life away!

So I just got back from vacation (and back to the gym) My legs are KILLING from my intense wieghtlifting routine on Monday -- squats, good mornings, hack squats, leg extensions, lunges, ham curls -- and ytesterday I decided to do spinning, followed by and hour of walking and then an hour of power yoga.

Yeah. I'm torn to shreds.

I did the 30 day shred and really liked it, even though it made me super sore! I love banana soft serve-it's amazing!

I did jillians shred today, too. She kills me, but it gets easier over time. the pain is a good pain, right?

Holy cow on that breakfast. Wow. I have never done Jillian's Shred series. The day after a super hard weight workout, I try to do a lower-intensity cardio just to get my body moving. Of course, if you're just really DONE, then soak in Epsom salt, massage the muscles, and take a rest day.

I love the 30 Day Shred DVD! I never followed the official 30 day plan or anything, but I love to do one of the workouts when I'm short on time or just want to mix it up!

That breakfast is gorgeous! I'd love to start my day with something to pretty and healthy! I've done the shred several times. It's a good workout.

Everything looks so delicious!

When I'm sore, I'll usually just hop on the elliptical!

You'll get used to Shred after a while. Last April I did it 30 days in a row!

If I am really sore I find that an icebath does the trick - its hard at first but it helps and you sleep like a baby afterwards!

I've never shredded, and don't even really know what it is. But boy oh boy does your breakfast look SO good! Banana soft-serve! That just sounds super right now in this awful weather!

I haven't done the 30DS yet though I do have the dvd now. Listening to her old radio podcast she says you're not suppose to do it 30 days straight. If I remember right it's like 10 days at each level with a day off between like you are doing.
