Homework Day :-( Boo

Well, since today is going to be a homework infested day, I figured I had better fuel my brain appropriately (*read* make a time consuming breakfast so as to put the homework off a little longer).

First I made a potent berry smoothie. I started with an Amazing Grass sample - Berry Flavour:

And added unsweetened almond milk, and about a cup of frozen mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries).

Next I added a scoop of Chia Seeds:

And a tsp of Bee Pollen:

Voila:

Powerful potent brain food - in a glass.

Next I cooked up some mocha oats:

Ta da:

Alright ... that's enough. Off to do the dreaded homework. Can't put it off any longer.

If I come out alive, you'll hear from me later.

Jolene, Looks great. What are the nutritional benefits of Bee Pollen and Chia Seeds? I've seen them around, but never used/ tried either of them. Would love to know more!

Oh those oats look great! Is it just simple oatmeal with chocolate chips? What are you studying?

Kat - Chia seeds have enormous health benefits. You do not need to grind them like you do with flax seeds, and they contain a lot of essential fatty acids (like fish). They also provide antioxidants. See this site for more info: http://icreatewisdom.com/chiaseed.html

Bee pollen also has a HUGE list of benefits. For info, check out this site: http://www.alternativescentral.com/beepollen.htm

Today was my first day trying either, so I don't know a lot about how/ if they will work to give me energy etc. But I will keep you posted, as I continue to use them.

Simply Life - I used 1/2 cup coffee, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup oats, and then after the oats were done, I topped them with a little bit of flax and a sprinkle of chocolate chips :-) I am studying psychology. I already work as a grade 7/8 school teacher, but am finishing up my second degree in psychology, and since I am doing an honours degree, it requires an experiment and thesis. I am working on the thesis now.

Taylor - I am just getting the hang of the blogger tools, but I think I know how to add a blog roll! I will add one!
