090909

Well I fixed my shotty computer that wasn't uploading pics. These are the steps I took to fix it:

1) Left it on
2) Walked away from it
3) Didn't think about it all day

And voila! It works just fine now. I am glad all my hard work paid off.

Now for my eats from the whole day ...

Breakfast:

Green Monster ... and:

Toast with an egg on it.

Lunch:

Perogies. I don't eat these anywhere near often enough. As a kid perogies were always my very favourite food. I still love them! I know this is not nutritionally balanced - but screw it. I had nothing else to take for lunch :-)

I also had strawberries:

And when I came home from work I had some cottage cheese with fresh ground pepper on top to hold me over until dinner:

Today is a very special day, because it is 090909, and also my best friends 27th b-day! And 2+7=9 ... haha. It is her champagne b-day, so I got her some champagne of course, as well as a funky wine bottle holder/ cozie type thing, and a coquette to make yummy tapas in, with a little tapas cookbook.

We went for dinner to a Tapas restaurant called La Bodega (they also have entrees). I had a strawberry beer!!!! (I never new there was such a thing):

Hubby and I shared this Caesar salad, but of course it came with our meal instead of before like we had intended:

My entree was the Tuscan pasta (tomatoes, spinach, kalamata olives, mushrooms, and a bit of Parmesan cheese tossed with organic spaghetti) - although it sounds amazing, it was kind of a flop:

Usually I LOVE this restaurant, but it didn't impress me tonight.

In honour of this special day 090909, I have come up with a list of 9 things I am REALLY happy about at the moment:

1) My permanent contract that I got at work! (waited 6 years for this)
2) My hubby - married 5 years this year (July) and celebrated in Vegas
3) The fact that my basement is being finished, and I can soon decorate it!!!
5) My wonderful friends who enjoy doing the same things that hubby and I enjoy doing, so we always have fun together
6) The trip I just booked to Dominican for New Years!
7) How much I am enjoying food blogging, and the regular readers of course :-)
8) My new car :-) We have spent the last 5 years with one car ... and it was wonderful, but now with my new job, it just won't fly
9) The fact that I will be DONE school in December (after 9 years of university without a semester off ... now hopefully I don't get the bug and register for classes for January.)

What are YOU really happy about right now?

Ha, I must have missed the breakfast post yesterday - glad to see you're still eating "real" meals and not just fruit! :) Wow, your Tuscan pasta entree looks sooo good! I love your question - I'm SO happy and grateful to have my husband, our families, friends, and jobs!

I've never heard of Perogies, what are they?
I'm happy we've got some nice sunny weather at last and for my new boyfriend (of one month) and of course my family and friends.

Taylor - You have never heard of perogies!!!! Oh my, you have to try and find some! They are a Ukrainian or Polish food, but extremely popular in the United States and Canada - everyone eats them (I think). Many people serve them with sausages and cabbage rolls, and they top them with sour cream, bacon bits, chives etc.

They are dough filled with a mashed potato and cheese mixture (although they can be filled with other things as well). You boil them for 5 minutes, or fry them and they are the most delicious little things you could ever eat!! I hope you get a chance to try them!

The P& A Food Chronicles -

Yes it is good! Would be better with peanut butter instead of almond butter though - I find the almond butter a little bland.

I tried clicking on your name, but it wouldn't allow me access to your page. Do you have a blog?
