Kids? A BIG Giveway? Coming Soon (Enough)!

O

n Monday I was contacted by Jason from CSN Stores.

CSN Stores has a number of websites with great products ranging from modern decor to kids furniture and cookware. Of course, I was instantly interested in the cookware, although maybe one of these days I will be thinking more about kids furniture - *Nudge nudge, wink, wink.* (Don't get too excited - see the Q and A below!!)

Jason presented me with the opportunity to either try and review a product from one of CSN Stores' sites myself, OR do a giveaway with my readers.

I decided that I would like to let you, my lovely readers, in on the action and do a giveaway instead of a product review.

The stuff on these sites is AMAZING, and I don't need to try it out to know that!

I am very excited that on Monday I will announcing another BIG giveaway!!
You won't want to miss out!!

Now for my eats ...

Breakfast was a smoothie.

Open up!

Mmmm, chocolate smoothie goodness. This was made with 1 cup unsweetened almond breeze, 1 T almond butter, 1 pack Chocolate Amazing Grass, 1 pack Kids Chocolate Amazing Grass, 1 scoop chia seeds, 1 scoop of the power blend that Navitas Naturals gave me to try.

This smoothie kept me full all morning.

I didn't have anything to take for lunch today, so I had to pick something up. I decided that Booster Juice would be the healthiest option. I had a vegetarian Greek wrap:

And some fresh juice (4 carrots, ginger, and apple) that I just about gagged on.
Too much ginger - blech!

The hubby and I were craving breakfast for dinner this evening. We made omelets and then put them on top of toasted whole wheat bagels, topped them with cheese, and broiled them for a couple minutes. I smothered mine in Sriracha. I have a problem.

Dessert was a grapefruit with a sprinkle of stevia (thanks to NuNaturals for the stevia).

I was recently asked this question as part of my "Ask Me Anything Feature":

It seems like you have a good career and a happy marriage. Are babies the next step?

Yes, the hubby and I are happily married (nearly 6 years now!!) and we both have our careers in full swing. We own our own home, have two cars, and a landscaped yard. I'd say babies are the next step :-) But we might sneak another trip or two in first! I think 28 would be a good age to get pregnant. I would also like to try and convince some of our couple friends that they should have a baby around the same time!! None of our couple friends have kids yet!! Crazy hey!!

So, tell me about your thoughts on kids.
Do you have them? Want them? When?
How many?

babies are awesome.
but i don't wanna pop one out for at least 5ish years (when i'm 30 seems like a good starting point to me)

my family has a history of healthy pregnancies in late 30s and even 40s (my mom was two weeks from turning 39 when baby brother was born, and my grandma had her last child at 45!) so i'm not stressed....

at least two i'd think but who knows...

am i lame if i say, never had kids, never want kids?

in my defense, i did summer camp for 5 summers. i get along GREAT with kids, just don't want them.
probably comes from my mom didn't really expect me to pop out. =D

I need to find a potential dad first of all. ;) I'm still in my dating haydays I guess you could say...

But yes I think one day I'd like kids. Far from now though, 8 to 10 years.

Oh my gosh- hubby and I were talking extensively about getting one more trip in until we talk babies too. We are going to Australia this coming December so I guess any time after that. I don't feel old enough to have kids, but I'm really excited to have them.

I love kids, but jury's still out if I want my own. I'd still like to have the option someday, if ya know what I mean.

Oh I love booster juice! When I worked in Toronto there was a Booster Juice on the main floor of my office building and I would buy and acai berry bowl once a week.

Mmmm...now I'm craving one.

I have three...had one in my 20s, one in my 30s and one very close to 40...three kids, 12 years apart. The interesting parts: my 21 year old son I had at 25 so really, for him, we are pretty young parents who can still relate. Yet, when we had him we were really struggling financially but I do not think he knew or suffered! Having our last daughter at 38 was wonderful, the whole family waited for her together. My son and other daughter were 12 and 7 and it was a family affair. And she has added immeasurably to our lives. We were financially secure at that point. But then, when she's 20 I'll be 58 so that may be a down side in that she won't have the "younger" parents her brother had.
But really, what I have found with our age spanned family is, no time is actually perfect anyway. They come when they come and they add joy to your life at any stage ofthe game. When you're ready, you'll know! Take the trips...life really does change after their arrival no matter how much you think it won't! :0)

I loveee all your giveaways..your blog is blowing up jolene. :) Anyways I do NOT see myself having kids till about 4 years...I have to get married first and not live in sin.:)

I have a sriracha/hot sauce problem too! I looove it!

I'm single, and not sure if I want kids. If I'm married and it feels right I will, but I do know that I'd much rather adopt than have my own. And if I stay single long enough, I'd like to look into foster parenting.

I'm excited for that giveaway!

that bagel and cheese looks so yummy!

I definitely want kids, but I'm nowhere near to being close to that stage :)

I always wanted two kids but after one I realized just how much work it is! So I'm happy with just one...she has enough energy for 5 kids, plus my husband counts as kid #2. :)

Take your time! You are so young. :)

Amber said...

I definitely want them, but not for 6 or 7 years! I think 28 sounds like a GREAT age to start :)

Alaina said...

Would I be part of the couple friends you are trying to convince to have babies? Of course, that is a rhetorical question! :P I just turned 28 (hubby is 29) and I still need to: a) find a secure job and earn maternity leave, b)go on two more major trips, c)make sure there will be other friends with kids, and d)possibly turn 30 before kids. We are only pretty sure we want them but not at the 100% certain stage yet. I think that is mostly a symptom of not being ready.

hooray for a giveaway!!

i'm all for kids. been married 5 years and have a house & vehicles...all the works, but still want to wait! I'm only 25 and got loads of time! def want 3 or more!!

That juice does sound a little gross. ha.

And I want kiddos! I think 28 is a fabulous age to have them! Im thinking thats about when I will (I'll be 25 in a few weeks).

Crystal said...

I absolutely see kids in my future, but it is in the distant future.
I will be turning 22 soon so by my standards I am still "too young" to even think about kids! So many people from my high school have already had 2-3 kids each, but I want to wait. I have a checklist of things I have to do before I have kids:
- Get this university degree I am working on!
- Pay off student loan
- Save some money, hopefully in a career
- Buy a house
- Travel to Japan
- Still be with my SO! :P
It is a big list but you only live once, right?

This question has been coming up so much in the blog world haha. I think I want kids eventually but no time soon either. I definitely want my friends to have them first!

kace@no guts no glory said...

Definitely want babies! But I should probably find a husband first :)

eatingRD said...

Hi Jolene! Your eats look tasty too, we love breakfast for dinner :) I don't know about kids quite yet, I think we still have to get our careers secure and have a little more fun together oh and get married! Once those kiddies come there's no turning back! If your friends decide not to at the same time, they could always babysit (j/k) have a nice weekend!

Andrea @Celery In The City said...

haha..I'm with Kace, the comment above me..babies sound like fun, but I'll focus on the husband finding first :) My sis waited until 28 too, I think it's a really good age. She's due in June!

That smoothie sounds great. I've never heard of amazing grass - assuming it's some kind of wheat grass? Must look it up.

Joanne said...

Love the smoothie. Yum.
As for kids... I never wanted children. It was always career, career, career. My husband has 3 but I came into his life when his youngest was 16 so that was perfect. I'm not a young child type person. I love kids. Enjoy being around them for about an hour but then, back to Mom - YAY!
Regrets? Maybe once in a while but for the most part,I'm glad I only had dogs. :)

Jessica @ The Process of Healing said...

Yay for the giveaway! Such cool products :D
I do want kids, for sure. Not looking forward to the pain but I love kids. Love them. I want 2 or 3 I think. Not sure what age.. I'm almost 22 and I thought i'd be married by now.. silly me. But you can't always plan everything.

Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) said...

Mmm...I *love* breakfast for dinner.

I wouldn't mind kids in the far, far, far future.

(p.s. Can't wait for the give away! :D )

haha! I hated it too :-X ITs so much more satisfying than a bowl of cold cereal though! Mmmm oats :)

Booster Juiiiiiiiiice! I love that stuff although Jugo Juice is my favorite.

As for kids.. I want them eventually but seeing as I'm only 18 I think I'm fine with waiting a bit. ;) My ideal age to get pregnant would be around 27-30. Yeah, I want to be done with popping out babies by the time I'm 30 and since I only want 2, I think (hopefully) that's doable.

Mara @ What's For Dinner? said...

How have I just found your blog??? I should've been reading you all this time... love all the eats :)
About kids: we've been married all of 3 months and already get asked ALL THE TIME when the babies are coming! We're thinking 3 or so years...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm eggs and Sriracha.
On the kid topic- the older I get and thus the more socially acceptable it becomes for me to have babies, the MORE SCARED OF BABIES I AM!
