Today was a good day. I felt a little more free today than I have in a while. This is because yesterday I sent a copy of my thesis off for review. Now, I have nothing to do but wait to get it back with some feedback so that I can do the final copy. It feels nice to have a few days with nothing to worry about! Last night the hubby and I did some decorating for Christmas!

We put a smaller Christmas tree upstairs, because with our new furniture we don't have room for a big one anymore. The big one will go downstairs in our new basement!

We put some snowmen on the wall:

Some trees on the ledge:

A chair cover on our water cooler :-)

And some little friends on the window ledge:

This morning I woke up and had a lovely green monster (steamed spinach - 3 cups, 1 scoop amazing grass, 1 scoop chia seeds, 1 banana, 1 cup almond breeze, 1 T peanut butter):

Lunch was leftover stew and an orange:

After work I snacked on 3 miniature pitas with veggie cream cheese:

The hubby and I went for a later dinner with our buddy Brad to one of our favourite restaurants - Korea House. I had my usual - Bee Bim Bop:

It came with miso soup ... which was delicious:

I am going for a hot shower now peeps - I love HOT showers! I also prefer showers to baths ...

What about you? Are you a bath person, or more of a shower person?

Good evening peeps! Today is GREY CUP day in Canada - which is like the Super Bowl for Canadians!!! My provinces team is playing in the Grey cup, and we are currently winning! This is a really big deal! GO RIDERS!!!!!!!!

Last night the hubby and I went to his work Christmas party. He snapped a pic of me on the way out the door:

We started the night at a Japanese restaurant, where they cook the food at your table and do tricks with the knives.

The hubby and I shared this mini dynamite roll:

And an order of gyoza:

The waiter then started cooking the main courses at the table:

He even made little volcanoes out of a stack of onion slices:

We got egg soup and rice:

I had the seafood special with lobster, shrimp and scallops:

The lobster was not in this pic, but you can see it in the one of the chef cooking.

This morning we were up early to do some stuff around the house. Breakfast was egg in a hole, and OJ:

Lunch was mac and cheese :-)

After lunch the hubby and I went shopping for house stuff and spent an obscene amount of money. We have been going CRAZY with the spending lately - ooops! Oh well, we can always make more money - that is my theory.

We went to hubby's parents house for dinner and had beef stew:

(I had to snap a pick of the leftovers they sent home with us because I forgot my camera).

I also had a glass of crystal light and a small bun.
Dessert was one oatmeal, raisin cookie.

I would like to thank Taylor from JoyOfFood for passing this award on to me:

Now I need to tell you 7 things about myself, and pass the award onto 7 other bloggers.
I could pass this award on to all of you, but since I can only pick 7, I would like to pass the award on to:

DairyFreeBetty

I'm an Eating Machine
Greens and Jeans
Jocelyn Eats Fresh
Low and Behold
MyMarbleRye

7 Things About Myself:

1) I love Hello kitty, and collect Hello Kitty things (I had dishes, and have been wanting to use them, but somehow they have gone missing during the renovations) :-(

2) I always check my cutlery before I use it (at home, restaurants, wherever) to make sure they are clean, and the dishwasher didn't leave any surprises behind. If they are not clean, I switch them with the hubby's cutlery :-) He is aware of this.

3) I think it is disgusting if people use hot water to brush their teeth.

4) I love stickers, and have a very large collection. I rarely use them as a teacher though.

5) Home Alone is my absolute favourite Christmas movie, and I watch it at least once every year around Christmas.

6) I love leg warmers, and leggings, and I don't care if other people like them or not - I wear them.

7) I get bored very easily, even though I always have a million things I can or should be doing.

~Tell me something interesting about you!~

A lot of people have been commenting on my sweet potato burrito I had yesterday. The recipe can be found in this post:

This morning I woke up to some fresh snow! We have been without snow for a while, as we have been having above normal temperatures in Saskatchewan. Time to put the winter tires on!!

Breakfast this morning was a lovely bowl of mocha oats (1/2 cup chocolate milk, 1/2 cup coffee, 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 banana sliced on top):

And liquid crack of course:

I spent the morning shopping for house stuff ... before and after pictures in about 1 week!!!!

Lunch was a green monster:

I had a really light lunch because it is the hubby's work Christmas party tonight, and we will be eating all sorts of delicious food - so I wanted to save room! We are going to a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food right at your table!!

Starting today, we have a Christmas party every Saturday until Christmas!! You have no idea how happy that makes me :-0

Do you have Christmas parties to go to this year? When is your first one?

Happy Friday Blog Faces!!

Today I had a great day at work! It was parent/ student/ teacher conferences today, and I met some of the awesome parents of my awesome students. They were 100% supportive, and enthusiastic about what we are doing in the classroom, and ready to help if needed. The parents said that their kids are LOVING being in my room, and that they can't stop talking about their class :-)

One parent told me that his son says I am the "best teacher ever!!" Totally made my day. Especially coming from a grade 8 boy! I love my job!

On to eats ...

This morning I was out of almond breeze, so I made a Green Monster using 1 cup of milk, 1 scoop of amazing grass, 1 banana, and 1 scoop chia seeds.

Lunch was leftover veggie chili, and a fruit cup:

I brought homemade cookies for the staff at my school today, and I ate 2 of them:

After work I made vegetarian burritos with sweet potatoes, onions, kidney beans, and spices mashed up and grilled in a wrap with cheddar cheese:

They were SO good!

The hubby and I are having a great night because our little nephew is sleeping over!!
We played with play-dough, and cars and trucks, and attack uncle (hehe), and had a snack, and snuggled. Now the little guy is in bed, and I can't wait for morning so I can see him again.
How did you spend your Friday night?

A Day of Indulgence (and work ...)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my American Readers! (And anyone else celebrating thanksgiving today)!

Thanksgiving was in October for Canadians like me, but I still want to tell you all what I am thankful for today:

1) I am thankful for my health
2) I am thankful for my family (they mean EVERYTHING).
3) I am thankful for my friends (I have the greatest group of friends and I love them!)
4) I am so thankful that it is almost the end of the semester.
5) I am thankful that I have an AMAZING job to go to everyday with a group of young people that I am so proud of and so glad to be able to spend each day with.
5) I am thankful that I have so many wonderful readers! I love you guys!

What are you thankful for today?

Eats today:

This morning I had a green monster (surprise, surprise):

Throughout the day I also had 2 Christmas oranges:

And just when you are thinking I am all "green monsters, and nutrients" woooahhhhh, I go and get all crazy on you and eat CRAP for the rest of the day :-)
Crap from Costco to be exact.

Lunch was a piece of pepperoni pizza from costco, but my camera ate the pic.

Dinner was this:

I am wild like that. I ate 1/2.

And just when you thought I couldn't get any crazier for one day ... I drank this:

Align Center
(coke zero ... aka ... poison in a cup - that I shared with the hubby).

I need to restrain my rebellious side, I know ;-)

After my nutritious square meal, I went for a 1 hour massage. Ahhhhh pure bliss!

If I was a millionaire I would totally get a massage a day.
What about you - what would you indulge in?

Happy Wednesday Bloggy Faces!

It was a beautiful day today - warm fall weather, no snow, no wind - just lovely. I hope this lasts a little while longer, because the winters in Saskatchewan can be brutal! Last year it was around -30 C almost every day of the winter!

I am almost over the cold I have been fighting for the past week - the homeopathic pills did their trick again because I only developed the slightest cough (a BIG improvement from any other time I have had a cold). I am still trying to keep my immune system strong by taking my vitamins and drinking my greens.

Last night I had a quick and easy green monster (1 big scoop of amazing grass, 1 cup almond breeze, 1 T peanut butter, 1 banana, 1 scoop chia seeds):

This green monster was the most PERFECT consistency, and it tasted AMAZING!

Breakfast this morning was 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg, scrambled, with hot sauce:

A small glass of 100% pure orange juice:

And a glo-bar with my coffee on the way to work:

For lunch I had a sandwich with leftover roast chicken, and a little bit of mayo and pepper:

And an orange:

After work I went to the university (You have no idea how BAD I want the days of going to the U after work to be over). Almost there. Almost there.

Luckily when I got home I walked into a house that smelled wonderful! My amazing, and supportive husband threw the ingredients for vegetarian chili into the slow cooker this morning so that dinner would be ready when we got home. He knows how to take care of me!

The chili was AWESOME! Check out the recipe here.

You just wait until the New Year!! I am going to cook my hubby some FANTASTIC meals! And I am going to have dinner parties and bake, and have a chocolate party, and everything else I am too busy to think about right now! I am so excited to get my life back!!! School has sucked the life right out of me this semester, with GREs, classes, my experiment, my thesis, etc.. all while working more than full time hours, and dealing with basement renos.

I was able to accomplish SOME of my thesis writing tonight - and now I am going to leave it for a few days, and then come back to it this weekend, revise/ edit, and send it off to my advisor.

While I worked I snacked on 1/2 of this DISGUSTING bar:

I am tossing the other 1/2. I love Amazing Grass drink powders, but I HATE the bars. Sick.

Have you ever tried Amazing Grass products? Which is your favourite?
I swear by their regular amazing grass powder, and their wheat grass powder. I also love their amazing meal powders!

Is it only Tuesday? It feels like I have gone through a whole week already ... blech.

I am not being very productive with my thesis peeps ... I am just having trouble getting into my groove (I think it is because there are so many other things I would rather be doing).

Breakfast this morning was a bowl of POM oats:

I added the arils of 1 POM to the oats as they cooked, and then topped them with 1 tsp of mini chocolate chips, and organic unsweetened coconut.

My mid-morning snack was 1/2 of a glo-bar:

Lunch was leftover chicken, and sweet potatoes:

As well as a fruit cup:

And some cheese:

Dinner was Ristorante Dr. Oetker Spinach pizza:

(The pieces are mini)

And a large side salad:

(lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, green peppers, cranberries, almonds, cheese, and a fig balsamic dressing).

I did some work for my thesis tonight, but no writing - just more research.
There is NO way I will have my draft done for tomorrow like I hoped. Crappy.

I am done working for the night, and am going to make a snack and sneak in a 1/2 hour show with the hubby.

I want to make a Christmas CD (or buy one) over the next few days ...
Any song or CD suggestions?
