Saturday Adventures

Yesterday morning we slept in, and then went out for a late brunch to Leopold's Tavern.

I had the chicken and waffles, and Christopher had some loaded breakfast fries.

The food was delicious, and the server was attentive.

After breakfast we walked over to the Cathedral Village Arts Festival.

This is a yearly festival in town that is so fun!  There are many food and arts vendors, as well as a lot of live music, drama, dance, etc.

We caught some rap artists, a couple new to us, and one old favourite.

We shared Indian and Afghani food:

And a chocolate-covered banana for dessert:

We walked and walked and walked, and ran into some people (our favourite being our little niece Remi).  After a full day at the CVAF we headed back to our car.

Once home again we planted all of our flowers, along with some herbs and peppers too.

Luckily we got everything planted before it began to storm!

The thunder and lightening drew us inside, but we made the most of it with movies and snacks.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?
Have you planted anything this spring?

That picture of the road with the canopy of trees is beautiful! Sounds like a super fun weekend. The food from the festival looks so good! It was a long weekend here. We didn’t plan much since the previous weekend was really busy. We took Phil’s mom out to lunch to celebrate her bday and I got together with a friend on Monday so our babies could meet and that was it for plans which was great. It was super hot and humid here. We set a record as it was 100 yesterday which is like 38C I think? It’s tooo hot! Paul gets warm so easily so we aren’t going on stroller walks since it’s so dang hot out!

But the heat is good for my garden. I planted it 10 days ago. I planted tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers, cucumbers and romaine lettuce. I have never planted lettuce but I eat so much that I thought it would be a good thing to plant!
