Montreal Part 1

On Saturday morning we took off on a vacation to Montreal.  We got off to a great start, getting a free upgrade to West Jet Plus seats (thanks Des), which includes free food and drinks, and extra leg room.

We took advantage of the free food and had some breakfast snacks.

We had a very short layover in Toronto, and literally got off our plane, and walked directly into the gate we'd be taking off from in about 45 minutes.  We shared a croissant and bagel, and enjoyed some coffees while we waited.

After the easiest traveling experience we've ever had, we landed in Montreal in the early afternoon, and headed to our hotel where we were given a free upgrade to a one-bedroom suite.

We have a balcony, and full kitchen, which is nice.  I doubt we'll cook any meals while we're here, but the fridge will be nice for snacks and leftovers.

We were really hungry when we arrived, so we shared a classic poutine at Nyk's.

This was the best poutine either of us had ever had.  They use a fois gras gravy, which was superb.

We walked and explored for a long while, before eating a bit more at Wing-Fa.

We ended the night early, which was good, because the next day was pretty full!

How was your weekend?  How's your week going so far?

Yum, that poutine looks amazing! I have never had it and don't know that I'll ever get to try it since gravies usually are thickened with flour so are off limits for me - so please eat some poutine for me. :) I have never been to Montreal but would love to visit so can't wait to hear more about it! Way to go on scoring upgrades on the flight and at the hotel!

My week got off to a fun start as it was Phil's birthday yesterday so we celebrated last night.
