Celebration & 1000th Post

This is my 1000th blog post!
Also, on Friday morning I successfully defended my master's thesis!

We figured it was time to celebrate, and this past weekend, we did.  Breakfast wasn't too out of the ordinary, but pretty nonetheless:

Later we snacked on a selection of cheeses, and shrimp cocktail:

Then we feasted!  We made a seafood platter for two, which included lobster, crab legs, giant prawns, and scallops:

On the side we had garlic bread, and loaded baked potatoes:

I have been blogging for 1559 days, and it's hard to believe I've posted 1000 times!  There are exciting things to be coming with Everyday Foodie that came up just in time for this celebration.  I can't share too much just yet, but I will let you all know that I'm going to be partnering and working with Canadian Living magazine!  I'm very excited and honoured to have been approached by the people behind this magazine.

In terms of school, I have been a university student every. single. year. since I was 17.  This master's degree will be my 3rd degree, and took me 2.5 years to complete, while working full-time.  I figure it might be time for a bit of a break ...

But we'll see how long that lasts!

What are you celebrating these days?
What celebrations do you have to look forward to?

I was actually going to guess that you had defended your thesis on Friday. How exciting! I am so happy for you. I am sure it feels so good to have that behind you!

These days I am celebrating each month that brings me closer to being done with this phase of my life in Charlotte. And at the end of the month, I will go to Paris which will be a celebration of having the CFA behind me for good!

Congrats on your thesis defense! That must be a huge weight off your shoulders. I remember what it was like when I finally met all of the clinical requirements for my DMD; I imagine it must be a similar feeling, if it runs along the lines of pure relief.
