FoodBuzz Festival - Day 1

Y

esterday morning I was up at 4:30 for my flight to San Fransisco (with a connection in Denver).  I had a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee before getting on my first flight.  When I landed in San Fransisco around noon, I was famished!  I had 2 crackers with some bruschetta mix that I got on the plane.  When I finally arrived at my hotel - Sir Francis Drake Hotel, I scurried over to the closest convenience store for some quick fuel.  I found the elusive new Lara Bar flavours and bought all 3.

My room is really tiny, but super cute!

I packed up my foodie gift for the exchange, and then headed out shopping with Eden and Astrid.
At 6:00 we headed to the "Street Food Fare" at the Fort Mason Center.

We were greeted by tables of cheese, figs, pears and assorted breads and crackers.

We met the Foodbuzz crew, and then we exchanged gifts with a foodie to our left.  I gave some Saskatchewan grown and made goodies to the Cilantropist.

I received some Boccalone Soppressata and some grainy mustard.

The Food Network was at the event filming for "Cupcake Wars."  The cupcakes were a huge hit.  I had one bite, but cupcakes aren't really my thang.

Scrumptious, savoury food on the other hand ... that's where it's at!
The wine and beer flowed all night, and I had a few sips, but nothing crazy.

Lobster Cappuccino
Pork Sandwich
Escargot Lollipop

I did enjoy the sweet and salty ice-cream (especially the salty parts).

And the best part of my first day in SF ...

Meeting some bloggie friends :-)

Tell me about your weekend!!  What have you done?  What do you have planned?

I remember that the Larabars would say on thme "all raw" or "70% raw." But lately there is no mention of that on their bars. I guess that I should call them and ask about it.

I'm with you on savory over sweet, so you're not too weird (either that, or we both are.)

Anyway, Eden sent me over to check out your blog and I'm glad she did. So jealous you got to hang out with her!

I just got home from a work trip myself, so my weekend has been spent catching up (laundry.) Yee-ha!

So, the important question arises...what do you think about the larabars? I loved the cc cookie dough but I wasnt at all impressed with the others...so not worth all the hype and hunting them down!

Fun! I would have gravitated towards the savory fare as well...
