We got home from my sister's place late last night, so we slept in a bit today. Christopher made breakfast, and then we sipped coffees in the living room for a while while listening to Christmas music.
We also made my mom's cinnamon buns for the first time:
Our freezer was never without cinnamon buns when I was growing up. I have fond memories of making these with my mom, rubbing butter all over the dough, and sprinkling them very generously with brown sugar and cinnamon. It seems that we were always making cinnamon buns, and I ate at least two of them many mornings for breakfast.
Soooo sticky, and so good! The aromas that flooded the house today brought back so many memories. These will be perfect for Christmas morning with a side of bacon and some coffee.
The rest of the day was spent with Christmas movies and snacks ...
Christopher made the crispiest, best wings ever - salt and pepper wings with a side of homemade ghost sauce.
We're ready for Santa! Merry Christmas everyone!
Do you have any Christmas eve traditions?

Yum, those rolls look so good! My mom made them often when we were growing up, too, and we always ate them with peanut butter on them! There's a gluten free baker that comes to the farmer's market in the summer and fall and whenever she has cinnamon rolls, I buy one! They are tough to make GF so I have to eat them when I can!
Christmas Eve is the bigger day of celebration for my family. We got to mass at 4 then come home and make a big dinner that includes seafood. This year we made paella which was so good!
