On Monday evening we had reservations at one of the top restaurants in Las Vegas, Gordon Ramsay's Steak. We hadn't had steak in nearly a year, and we were excited to sink our teeth into what we were hoping would be the best piece of meat we've ever had. We were not disappointed.
The service at this restaurant was superb. It felt like we had about three servers to attend to our every need, practically reading our minds about what we wanted. A cart was wheeled to our table and the server explained each cut of steak.
Christopher ordered the American Kobe Filet ($79), and I ordered the American Kobe Rib Cap ($60).
The steaks are all served a la carte, so the sides must be ordered separately. I started with a bowl of the British onion ale soup. It was peppery and full of flavour.
Christopher had the Caesar salad and loved how fresh the homemade dressing was, as he was mmmmmming until the last bite.
The complimentary breads were full of surprises, such as a faint blue cheese flavour in the far left bread, and pieces of bacon in the middle (back) bread.
For side dishes with our steaks we shared roasted heirloom carrots (with chicken skin, ranch powder and "hot wing" sauce), and mac and cheese (with blue, Parmesan, cheddar and truffle). The mac and cheese was out-of-this-world good.
We both loved our steaks and agreed that they were the best piece of meat we have ever tasted. The sear on them was so flavourful, especially since they had been basted with a butter mixture.
The entire bill (with drinks) came to $230, which we thought was quite reasonable for the quality of the food and service that we had received.
We will definitely return to this restaurant.
