Celebrating

It's no secret that we love to celebrate.  We got married on Friday the 13th for a couple of reasons; we both love the date, and we also thought it would be fun to celebrate not only our yearly anniversary, but also every Friday the 13th!  Yesterday was Friday the 13th, so we busted out some bubbly, and planned a delicious meal.

We started with smoked salmon on fresh-made crostini.  We topped the crostini with herb cream cheese before adding the smoked salmon.

The main course was roasted veggies with lobster tails.

For dessert, we had the best chocolates ever, Bernard Callebaut.

There were a few more in that bag, but someone ate them.

It was such a wonderful Friday evening, spent with my favourite person in the world.  There is one more Friday the 13th this year, in November, and you better believe we'll be celebrating!

What are you up to this weekend?

I think its a great quality to share as a couple- the ability to celebrate especially celbrating one another. You two are an example of a healthy couple/relationship and its even better when food can be something that brings you together <3

Aw, what a fun and special celebration. It will be fun to continue to celebrate on "Friday the 13th" for years to come! Your meal looks and sounds delicious!

This has been a quieter weekend which is what I needed. We had dinner with friend on Friday night, lunch with Phil's mom yesterday, and stayed in last night and had chicken tikka masal that I made in the crockpot (which was sooo good). Today will be all about relaxing, going to yoga, and going for a bike ride!

Mmmm...chocolate.

Friday the 13th: what a great tradition to start as a married couple!

Spent from noon yesterday until 10am today at Brownies camp with my daughter. So happy the weather was nice so that the girls could spend lots of time outside. My daughter's hockey windup was this afternoon, so hung out there for a couple of hours.
