It is impossible to explain how good Lotus of Siam is; you just have to go there and try it for yourself. This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life, and Christopher agrees. He describes it best, saying that eating there is like getting into a time machine and traveling into the future of cooking.
This is the restaurant that the celebrity chefs eat at when they are in Las Vegas. It is off the strip in a rundown strip mall, but it is more than worth the $15 cab ride. It's not fancy. It's not expensive. Eating at this restaurant makes me feel that there is no excuse for any restaurant to serve mediocre food.
They have an extensive menu of Northern Thai food, that the critics, foodies and best chefs in the world agree is the best Thai food outside of Thailand. I've never been to Thailand, but I'd put this restaurant up against anything there as well.
We asked the server for some recommendations and his first knocked the beef tartare from Sage out of the top spot of best thing I've ever eaten. It was Nam Kao Tod (minced sour sausage with green onions, fresh chili, ginger, peanuts, crispy rice and lime juice).
We also had Koong Sarong (marinated prawns wrapped with bacon and rice paper crepe).
The two main dishes we ordered were the green curry and the crispy duck with noodles.
The crispy duck was phenomenal. The variety of textures and flavours in this dish is other-worldly.
Seriously, next time you are in Las Vegas, you must eat at Lotus of Siam.
What is the best restaurant you've eaten at in your life?

Just booked a list minute Vegas trip and you better believe this place is on my list of places to eat! You rave about it often and I can't wait to try it!
