Cooooooookie

The other day Christopher was wondering why there was a random bag of mini m&ms in the freezer.  Welllll, it's because if I have those on hand at all times, these cookies can be made without me having to go out and get any other ingredients.  They are easy to whip up when dessert or a treat is needed in a hurry.

For the same reason, I always have chocolate chips in the freezer.

Cookies are a good thing.

A very good thing.

Is there any dessert that you make with ingredients that you always have on hand?

The only thing I bake is banana bread. I used to have all the ingredients on hand to make it, but then I moved and had to throw away or donate opened bags of stuff as the movers wouldn't pack some things. So now I don't have the majority of the ingredients and don't want to buy them because I don't want to live here long enough to make it worth my while to purchase them. ;) My mom always had all the ingredients on hand for several cookies and desserts, though!!

Off topic, but just had to tell you - Michael and I just moved into our new place, and since we had nothing in the fridge we went to a restaurant nearby called Bi Bim Bap...they had all these awesome different stone bowl options at really decent prices, and the meal came with free fresh pickles, kimchi and a ginger-cinnamon bevvie at the end. It ruled! I thought of you. :)

Those cookies look great! I can almost always make chocolate chip cookies out of the blue, and same goes for banana bread.

Mark Bittman's blondie recipe! So good and so adaptable. I just made a batch of chocolate pretzel blondies this weekend.

I always buy chocolate chips then I eat them before they become cookies or blondies! I did just pick up some gluten-free cookie dough this weekend that I can't wait to try out.
