Weekend Off

W

ork is in full swing, and school starts this week.  This was my last weekend to relax before the craziness of full-time work and full-time grad school kicks into gear.  I decided to take the weekend off from blogging and just relax, and visit with friends and family.

Eats Recapped:

FRIDAY

Breakfast was a lovely bowl of oatmeal made with vanilla almond breeze, banana, cinnamon raisin PB, cinnamon and maple flakes:

I had lunch with some friends from work at a Thai restaurant called Angkor.  I had the Pad Thai.
Dinner was a hot chicken sandwich and a bowl of soup at another restaurant called The Mercury.

SATURDAY

The hubby made French toast for breakfast.  I had 2 pieces sprinkled with icing sugar, and dipped in real maple syrup.  We then headed out on the road for a couple hours to visit my mom.

I had Bee Bim Bap for lunch.  It was fabulous as usual!

For dinner I had a small turkey sub loaded with veggies.  I also had vanilla yogurt with a tsp of PB in it (this is a GREAT combination!)

Saturday night we went to two different parties.  One was for the hubby's friend Mike, who just finished the Penticton Ironman.  The other was for our friends' birthdays.  I had a few Caesars throughout the night.

SUNDAY
Sunday morning we went out for breakfast with my dad, sister, and nephew.  I had a southwestern breakfast (minus the toast):

Lunch was leftover Pad Thai:

We had dinner at the hubby's parent's house.  This was my plate:

MONDAY

Today I spent the day relaxing.  The hubby and I watched the movie/ documentary "Babies."  It was really cute!  Breakfast was a VOO and banana soft serve parfait, and a fruit cup:

I had a spinach and feta pita pizza for lunch:

And chili for dinner:

What was the highlight of your weekend?
Anyone planning on going to the FoodBuzz festival?
I am thinking about it, but would love to have some buddies to meet up with there!

Good luck with school this week! At least it feels like fall now, so it feels like back-to-school time.

Sounds busy. I can't imagine going to grad school full-time while still working. Good luck!

The highlight of my weekend was finding a nearby farm stand with the best peaches and foot-long green beans.

Ahhhh, we had on-venue catering during the Games but it was so hard to eat because we were always running off somewhere... I would not have survived without my peanut butter & vanilla yogurt snack stash, haha. Amazing combination!

Thanks for the Salba link (I'm going to give it a try) and for reading through my blog even though it's new and not so impressive! Much appreciated!

Once again I have total food envy! Even your oatmeal looks beautiful!!

I did cook this weekend, though, so I am sort of proud of myself. I made a vegetable soup. And I baked banana bread. It was nice to do something in the kitchen for a change!

Hope your week is off to a great start!
