Gone Camping and Mystery Giveawy

M

y first full day of summer holidays
has been great so far! I slept in until 9:30, then made a nutrient packed juice with: 1/2 a canary melon, 1 grapefruit, 1 red pepper, and 5 strawberries. I juiced it first, then tossed some ice in and blended it in my Vita-Mix:

I also had some eggs with mushrooms, cheese and hot sauce:

(2 whole eggs and 2 whites)

After breakfast I went for an approximately 7 km bike ride in the blazing heat.

I came home and got ready for camping! The hubby and I are leaving today to go camping with some of our friends for the weekend. July 1st is a Holiday in Canada (Canada Day). We will be home Sunday.

I baked some cookies for our camping trip:

I packed my stuff:

And had oatmeal for lunch :-)

(Inside a canary melon - they taste so good together!)

It may be dumb but I've been listening to Only Hope from Mandy Moore. I just love it. Also Bon Jovi. Anything Bon Jovi basically!

Hey, Jolene! My first day of holidays was spent in the ER with my hubby again...allergic reaction for the fourth time (to who knows what). So...my dream of the first big sleep-in was crushed. Anyway,
one of my favourite songs right now is "Don't Call Me Baby".
It drives my son nuts because when I start singing it, I can't stop.
Then I have to think about "It's A Small World" to get it out of my head (idea courtesy of Craig Ferguson)! Safe camping...stay out of the poison ivy!

My favorite song at the moment is "Pony" by Far. It's a weird remake of the original and I think it's sexy.

I haven't been to Canada, but it is most definitely on my list to go there. It seems like all Canadians I've met are so friendly and simply wonderful.

I'm not from Canada, but I'd love to visit! I would love to go to Banff, Toronto, Vancouver - anywhere really :) As long as there's not 4 feet of snow on the ground that is, haha.

Have fun on your trip!

Ok, Thursday question: Not from Canada, Minnesota is close though. I've never been there. I know that the Canadian Quarters won't work in vending machines and that people in Quebec really try to hold on to their French heritage. That's about all I know of Canada. Horrible that we live so close but don't know anything about it. I admit, Americans are snobs, we don't teach our kids enough about other countries. Ooh! it just dawned on me, I HAVE been to Canada, we went to Niagara Falls after high school and we went into Canada briefly. :-)

I am definitely 100% all Canadian! :) I'd love to spend more time on the east coast - so beautiful! Happy Canada day!

Happy Canada Day! I'm not from Canada. I'm actually from as far away as you could get -Miami. :)

However, I've been to Canada a few times and really enjoyed it. I would love to see more of the parks up there.

Saturday I plan on working and then relaxing(doing nothing).

Interesting? hmmmmm Once won $60 when I was 16 by drinking a combination of any fluids and juices were on our dinner table. Tabasco, chinese food juice, pop, soy sauce, etc.
It was pretty bad but when you're young you're thinking easy money :-)

Oh yeah once per day.....lol...oh well. I'll leave this anyways as I'll probably forget about coming back. Least you'll get a chuckle :-)

My plans are today to bake some cookies for the family and for my daughter to take to visit her boyfriend. Then I'm going eyeglass shopping with my son.

Ok, Friday question: Weekend plans. Not much. The husband works all weekend but has Monday off. The kids and I will go on walks and bike rides but we'll be sticking close to home as we only have one car. Monday hopefully we'll do something fun like a park but I need to get my hair cut so I might do that. We're pretty boring people. :-)

Hello!

Mystery! I'm sad that I was gone for the first few days of this. :)
Something interesting about me.... hm. My sister and I are training for our first Ultramarathon of 50 miles in September. The training miles are just starting to stack up seriously, so it's getting to feel "real." I'm excited, a bit scared, and will hopefully be prepared when the day comes!
