Pantry Makeover

H

ave you ever wondered what $300 worth of Tupperware would get you?

It will take your pantry from something like this:

To something more like this:

That is how I spent my morning.

In the process, my counter looked like this:

I live a wild life.

As an aside, have you ever seen one of these brown-sugar savers? It is intended to keep the brown sugar soft and clump free, and it actually works!  As I cleaned and organized, I made sure to toss this in to my new brown sugar container.

(*Note* - I received no compensation from Tupperware or the brown-sugar saver people).

This afternoon we celebrated by nephews 4th birthday.

After the party my dad took us all out for supper, where my nephew ordered what any other normal 4 year old would order ...

Mussels.

And he ate them all. What a kid :-)

How messy is your pantry?
Have you ever spent money on ridiculously, overpriced Tupperware?
Do you have a brown-sugar saver?

I have used the brown sugar savers for ages!! I know it seems obvious but don't forget to soak it in water every once in awhile. my poor sister couldn't figure out why it didn't do anything. LOL

you gotta nice looking pantry there now!

What a nephew, way to go! 4!!

scary, how the kitchen counters can look during the process!

I love my tupperware, it has the lids that snap to the bottom during storage :)

I have never even heard of a brown sugar saver - that is so cool!

My pantry is pretty organized, but it's a small space so if it was messy, it'd be a disaster and it would stress me out to look at it!

Love that your nephew eats mussels - now that is a kid with good taste!

our pantry is pretty small and we keep moving every year so it helps to keep things simple and not too cluttered!

I love the Tupperware look! I need to get some to organize my very disorganized pantry!

I have a small pantry, so it stays fairly organized.

I keep all my baking ingredients in the freezer. My mom always did it to keep out bugs and mice, so I do too. Nothing actually freezes, so it's all good.

How fun is that!! I am not a tidy person, but I LOVE getting organized!

My pantry looks like the "after" of yours because I am OCD and have everything in ziploc containers, hahaha. I love a neat pantry!

I have seen the brown sugar savers before but I've also seen people put a slice of apple or a slice of bread into their brown sugar containers and both work just as well! Kinda weird though...

I would like to admit that I thought $300 worth of tupperware was a waste of money but I now must eat my words; it was defiantly worth it.

Love the comment from the hubby.

Your nephew is adorable- I can't believe he ordered mussels. A foodie in training ;)

My pantry and my fridge are trouble hot-spots for me. There's so much crammed into this that I'll literally just eat random things from it (and a lot) because I get overwhelmed and want to "cut it down"...

Your idea of course is MUCH more sensible ;)

oh and yes i have seen those brown sugar de-clumper clay thingies. in fact i have a tonne of them! in highschool me and my brothers all made them..mine was a duck and my brothers made teddy bear ones. my mom still keeps them and even has my clay duck in the bottom of her canister of brown sugar!

The pantry looks awesome. I have some tupperware for mine but not nearly enough.

Once upon a time my pantry was organized, much like your "after" shot. And then we moved and my kitchen has never recovered. One day, though, once I'm done school, organization will return!

Have used a brown sugar saver, but I didn't find that it worked that well. A trick from my grandma and mom is to use a slice of bread (usually the crust, because how often do you actually use the crust?). Just throw it in and the moisture from the bread keeps the brown sugar soft. And the bread dries out so it doesn't get all moldy.

I have a few Tupperware items, but have tons of organizational products around here!

And my son has been known to order salmon and broccoli, but that's a little more commonplace than mussels, that's for sure!
