Devour

M

y eats the past couple of days have looked something like this ...

I had a heck of a time trying to cut into this squash, and eventually gave up and let the hubby have at 'er.  We cooked it up topped with with Italian sausage and then some tomato basil sauce with a bunch of spinach tossed in.

When I am not devouring delicious food, I am devouring non-fiction like it's my job.

The hubby and I went to Chapters this evening and there were some books that I just had to pick up:

"The China Study" "Unbearable Lightness" and "The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels"
I also got a magazine :-)

Don't judge.

We have fun plans for tomorrow evening.  There is a foodie/drink event happening in our city, and we are going with a bunch of friends!

What do you have planned for the weekend?
What book are you dying to read?

Let me know how those books are!

Weekend plans: kids' hockey, daughter has a birthday to attend, and my parents are taking my kids overnight and Sunday, so it'll be study time! Also hoping to get in some workouts and more SLEEP.

No books I'm dying to read right now, but I was just thinking I should order a few to read over February break.

I always come across recipes that call for squash, and I never make them because I figure I will not be able to cut into a squash w/out losing a finger in the process! ;)

This weekend I am celebrating my 30th bday!

I just had spaghetti squash for the first time last month, but the more I eat it, the more I love it! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on "Unbearable Lightness"... and I'm off to check out "Dog Days are Over" Thanks for the suggestion!

I ordered Unbearable Lightness and it came in the mail TODAY! I am so excited!

This weekend is school, school, school. I wish I was going to the fesitval. Have fun!

I actually just made spaghetti squash tonight!
I always just bake the whole things and cut it in half afterwards. crew the rules, still works for me ;)

Everything looks great! I always wish I had a man around when I'm dealing with squash, haha.

It looks like I might be snowed in again this weekend, but I really didn't have big plans anyways. Have a good one!

I love magazines and live for book stores. I have a ton of books on my list and one of my errands this weekend is to go to the library to pick up some good books to read!

Your food looks delicious- especially the squash dish.

I'm watching the Superbowl this weekend and eating food (mostly the eating part).

Love the squash dish - a chef friend said to microwave squash first before attempting to cut into it, but not sure how long she meant.

I picked up a trashy thriller in the airport - but I'm trying to be intellectual and read Cleopatra (but can't get past page six, truth be told).

Hahaha! I love your mag choices ;) I love lil wayne ;)

Spaghetti squash is my fave to replace noodles and to eat with coconut oil. YUM!

Thanks SO much for your recent comment on my 'Oprah post/'argument'. It really meant a lot as I was 'holding my breath' after I hit the 'publish' button!!

Your butternut squash looks SO yummy!!!

The China Study is an interesting book... I'm looking forward to reading more, but there are definitely some unanswered questions so far....

I'd like any of those books!

What is the Pioneer Woman? Does she have good, "easy" recipes? Is the book a cookbook or book?

Enjoy your weekend :)

My roommate is reading that portia de rossi book. She told me it was kind of lame, very "woe is me, hollywood pressured me to be anorexic, my life is so hard because I have money...".lol!
And that Rollingstone cover gives me the creeps....just sayin...
I lately have little time for books, but I love hearing podcasts! There are like MY thing at the moment.
