Protein at Breakfast

I need to have protein at breakfast or else I am famished by about 9:12 a.m..  I don't know how I ever survived in high school, running on empty until noon.  Disregarding the adage that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I favoured sleep through my high school (and university) years.

I now know that I need to eat a big, and protein packed breakfast to make it through my morning at work.  This protein often comes in the form of eggs (even better covered in hot sauce):

Or, in the form of yogurt with nuts.  Today I ground up some macadamia nuts (don't worry that is not popcorn on my yogurt) and threw them, some flax, coconut and strawberries on my vanilla yogurt.

Of course my favourite protein to have at breakfast is bacon ... but I save that for weekends.

What is your typical weekday breakfast?
Did you ever go through a skipping-breakfast phase?

I'm the same at breakfast, though I've learned that it doesn't matter for me if it's protein or fat. I totally go through breakfast phases - mainly oatmeal or smoothies, and I make sure both are high enough in calories that I don't fall on the floor mid-morning at school, ha ha. :)

Your breakfasts look delicious! I'm kind of a lazy breakfast eater. I don't get hungry until I've been up awhile, so after two cups of coffee I'll have a banana if I'm not hungry at all or have flax oatmeal with Greek yogurt. When I work from home and on the weekends I try to get in something more substantial though.

I love eggs with hot sauce! I also need protein at breakfast or else I'm snacking on something bad for me by 11:30 (I start later in the day).
I have my normal bowl of cereal, OJ and a hard boiled egg on the side. It's usually my go-to. But, I'm going to try crushing up some walnuts and pecans and tossing them on my yogurt. Sounds yummy!

Eggs with salsa is my favorite breakfast! Lately I have been switching it up, though, and have been having oatmeal with a sliced banana stirred in which has been keeping me full. I also like to have over easy eggs with gluten free toast!
