Green

H
appy St. Paddy's Day!

My morning started off green.

I have read numerous times that one of the best ways to start the morning is with an organic apple on an empty stomach.

I enjoyed this apple with some tea.

Green tea with toasted brown rice to be exact.   I got it at Bulk Barn, and it is fabulous stuff.

Yep, that's popcorn in the tea!  It has a very earthy taste.

After about a half an hour I had some oatmeal made with almond milk and topped with PB and organic dark chocolate covered walnuts.

I love St. Paddy's day, and all things Irish.  Check out my Irish themed dinner from a couple years ago.  Also, one of my favourite Irish recipes (Irish oatmeal bread) can be found here.

Okay, I am off to get my Irish on!

How are you celebrating St. Patrick's Day?

I have never been a big St. Patrick's Day person... so I am not doing anything very St. Patrick's themed... I ran, studied, and will be having dinner with friends tonight. But we are having mexican, so def no link to the holiday. I did buy green (mint choc chip) ice cream to bring with my dessert, though. :)

We didn't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day, per se, but did make some chocolate cupcakes with mint icing, and my husband and I actually had a date night and went out for sushi and then saw 21 Jump St. So much fun!

Ooh, and we fired up the BBQ this weekend, too. Just finished off some beef tenderloin, quinoa, and roasted cauliflower.

Well to toot my own horn my Guinness and Caraway Bread came out amazing. I did drink a couple of Guinness with friends who'd be in or at the parade, but nothing too crazy. I'm way to old for all of that!

I haven't ever been a huge St. Patrick Day's celebrator, but I love seeing how everyone celebrates!
