Father-Daughter Night Out

My dad took me out to a dinner and show at the casino last night.  We had a pretty decent dinner with drinks, which was followed by a Doc Walker concert.  Doc Walker is a Canadian country-rock band, that I used to be a big fan of.  I haven't listened to country in a few years, but they still put on a really good show.

Dinner started with a salad and rolls.

The main course was chicken (or turkey - couldn't tell), sweet potatoes and beans.

Not sure exactly what the dessert was, but it was pretty tasty.

On the way out of the concert each person was given an autographed Doc Walker album and chocolates - sweet!
I did some work on my thesis this evening, and tomorrow I have BIG baking plans. I can't wait.

What are you baking this December?

I'm making red velvet cake balls this weekend. I'm more excited about it than any normal person should be and I really hope they turn out!

What a cool event with your dad- the food does look pretty good for a set dinner- whatever the dessert was, I'll take it :)

I'll be making peanut butter cookies that I saw on a blog yesterday...and maybe chocolate covered orange peel (my all-time fave!)

Sounds like a great night.

I just baked cookies for the Great Blogging Cookie Exchange. They were very tasty. I will be going nuts in the kitchen in a few weeks for the holidays.

I'm going to bake my family recipe Christmas cookies, and maybe some blondies. I'm not a big baker though.

The only thing I will bake this month is a tres leches cake for the gathering I am hosting on Saturday night. I am not a sweets person, and no one really would choose to eat a gluten free baked good if they didn't have to, so it's not like i can offload whatever I make on family! ;)

That is quite the dinner!! My favorite Doc Walker song is "Rocket Girl"... it reminds me of my grade 12 year so much!
