Christmas Party

Last night we hosted our annual Christmas party.  We spent Friday evening prepping so that Saturday was a breeze.  The house was decorated, the food was pretty much ready to go, and I even had time to curl my hair.

The hubby and I poured a drink before our friends started to arrive.

We greeted our guests with cranberry orange sparklers (1 cup cranberry cocktail, 1/3 cup Cointreau, equal parts sparkling wine and ginger-ale).

Then ... we ate ... and ate.

We also did a little gift exchange game that is a Christmas party tradition at our house.  I bought a ukelele kit complete with ukelele for $22 at Costco - I thought it was an amusing gift :-)  I ended up with some artisan beer <3.

We were up very late last night, but we slept in for the first time in ages, and then the hubby made breakfast with mimosas.  He made my bacon just how I like it - SUPER crisp.  If it can't snap, it is not done.

We spent the day Christmas shopping, watching movies, and just hanging out (while eating some junk).

What a great weekend!

What was the highlight of your weekend?
How do you like your bacon - soft, crisp, super crisp?
What is your favourite Christmas movie?

That seems like so much fun and you are quite the hospitable host!

I like my bacon crispy, as well...with a side of hashbrowns and a runny egg on top!

Ah...next year fly me to Canada so I can come! Looks like a great time, with great food.

It is weird that I only eat bacon "in stuff", I don't usually just pick up a piece to eat.

Favorite xmas movie is Christmas Vacation and The Christmas Story.

I like bacon all of those ways. I'm not too particular with it. Looks like the party was a lot of fun!

I don't really care for bacon, but when I do eat it I like it chewy :)

The highlight of my weekend was spending 2 hours at a mediclinic because my daughter had a corneal abrasion! The rest of the weekend was spent studying, unfortunately. Only 4 days left to go, though :) I like crisp bacon. Favourite Christmas movie is Elf, or maybe Love Actually (that counts, right?).

What a gorgeous party! You are one fabulous host. All of your food, snacks, and decorations are perfect!
My favorite christmas movies are Elf (never gets old!) and Serendipity. I don't think the latter is technically a "Christmas" movie but it takes place during Christmas time so I count it. :)

Everything looks delicious!

Is one of the cookies on the cookie tray a chocolate dough surrounding a york peppermint patty? I ask because I recently made some and it looks similar.

Fav Christmas movie: Scrooged. I love Bill Murray.
