National Peanut Butter Day (USA)

I

have been informed that today is national peanut butter day in the US.  I am Canadian, but I am totally up for participating in any national food day.

Now, here is the totally bizarre part ...

I didn't find out it was National PB day until I had already had PB in my breakfast, lunch and dinner, and had planned and started prepping tomorrows dinner which also includes PB!  No joke.

Breakfast was maple mocha oats (1/2 cup quick oats, 1/2 cup coffee, 1/2 cup chocolate Almond Breeze, 1 tsp maple flakes, 1 tsp maple PB):

Lunch was Italian Wedding soup, and some vanilla yogurt with peanut butter mixed in.

This evening I made Caribbean Coconut Rice with Garbanzos and Veggies.  I made this once earlier this month, and I got the recipe from Averie's blog.

It is such a good dish, and one of the ingredients is peanut butter.

While dinner was cooking I started reading some blogs and found out on Kat's blog that it was National PB day.  I had to have an apple with PB for dessert :-)

After dinner I whipped up dinner for tomorrow, which you will have to wait to see
(but it also includes PB).

So now there is only one logical question to be asked ...

Chunky or Smooth?

I pick smooth.

You sure made me proud with your dedication to peanut butter today!

I think this means you need to come visit your neighbors in the south soon *ahem SF*!

I have to say smooth. So good!

Ha-- I was eating peanut butter yesterday too! Good thing, it being a holiday and all.

I'm a chunky person-- gimme that texture.

ALWAYS chunky. Creamy just isn't the same...

Glad to know you celebrated!! :) Chunky or smooth depends on my mood actually. Smooth is better for just eating straight up, but I do enjoy some chunk when I bite into a sandwhich!

Well if that's not an excuse to put it on EVERYTHING, I don't know what is! I'm a crunchy girl but I try not to discriminate...

Smooth! But I don't have peanuts or tree nuts in my house due to our niece's severe allergy. I miss peanut butter so much! On vacation over the Christmas holidays I think I ate peanut butter everyday and discovered the joy of peanut butter in oatmeal.

Darn - I didn't know it was national PB day! As a PB lover, I am a bit disappointed that I didn't have any yesterday! I just might have to have some today to make up for that!

I prefer smooth because it is easier to spread!
