Baking up a Chocolate Storm

It is days like today that I just want to hibernate.  It was absolutely, frigidly freezing today.  The students got to stay inside for recess, as they would surely freeze to death if they stepped outside.  I know I would.

I didn't have time to eat breakfast as I remembered this morning that it was my turn to buy the iced cappuccinos for my coffee group at work (yes, we still drink iced cappuccinos when it is -30).  I ate a slice of gingerbread loaf when I got to work.  Lunch was canned Italian wedding soup - my new obsession, a baby bel cheese, and an orange.  This evening for dinner we had spaghetti with tomato sauce:

I spent the entire evening baking.  Ahhhhh, the joys of being done classes.

Tomorrow I am baking short bread, and at least 1 other type of cookie.  If I had to eat one sweet treat for the rest of my life, homemade cookies would be it!

If you could only eat one sweet treat for the rest of your life, and you had to give up all the others, what would you choose?

This is probably the most difficult questions I've ever been asked in my entire life.

I'm going to go with a bag of white chocolate chips. Or butterscotch chips, actually. Sometimes I think I use baking as a cover-up for how badly I want to eat them!

I need to try those oreo cookies you've made! You should cut one in half so we can see the double-stuff in all it's gooey glory...

Haha it took me a second to figure out that was my recipe. They look great! I would like to make those cookies again sometime.

Enjoy your vacation!

If I am not limited to only one type of cookie, I would pck homemade cookies, too. But that could get sad, because I love cake. And I love sticky buns (apparently). But I think cookies have always been my favorite. It is a good thing that I will never have to give up sweets in my future. I have a very healthy appreciation for them!
Your treats look delicious.

I think I would choose crepes w/ nutella & bananas. I fell in love with these over in France. I am not supposed to have them because of my gluten intolerance, but I might have to cheat when I am in Paris and have one because they are just too good. I will pay for it as my stomach hates me when I eat gluten, but I think it might be worth it...

Does it count for me to say that I would eat cookies? That's a wide category, but I don't think I can choose just one variety!

Ahh! I would be a very sad person if I only had to eat sweet things for the rest of my life. But if I had to choose, I'd go with caramelized nuts or popcorn.

Hibernating is definitely preferable when it's that cold out. But baking is even better. YUM!

What do you do with all the cookies? I hope you EAT them :)

Chocolate. Hands down chocolate (in answer to your question). Or chocolate-chip cookies (duh) ;)
