Christmas Party Re-Cap

On Saturday night the hubby and I had some friends over for our annual Christmas party.  I woke up early and fueled up for the day with some whole wheat pancakes.

What does this pancake look like to you?

I then set out to cook and bake a few things for the evenings festivities.

By 7:00 p.m. the food was ready, the house was decorated, and we were ready for our friends to arrive.

People came two by two, from 7:00 - 10:00, and everyone stayed until about 1:00.

The Hubby

Near the end of the night I was forgetting to take food pictures, but we also had dim sum, potstickers, jalapeno poppers, and a bacon mushroom dip.

Sunday we ate eggs and toast for breakfast, then picked up my nephew and spent the day with him playing, and making a gingerbread house.  I had a mini stirfry for lunch, and then for supper we ate goodies from the party, drank Coke Zero, and watched Home Alone 1 and 2.

What is your favourite Christmas appetizer treat?
Are there certain foods you only eat around the holidays?

Everything looks delish!! I only drink eggnog at christmas time. Maybe thats because thats only when they sell it lol And I only eat candy corn in November and December. I still have a bag in my house but refuse to touch it since its december. Maybe if they came up with candy corn xmas trees I would eat them ;)

Great pics ... looks like a lovely party! I love your food choices. Looks like something we'd do down here in the good ol' state of Indiana, too!!

Oh yum! The food looks awesome!

My family eats lots of appetizers on Christmas Eve. We always have shrimp cocktail and then an assortment of fish which grosses a lot of people out (like smoked oysters, sardines, picked herring, etc). i eat some of those things, but not all... and Christmas is really the only time of year that I eat them.

You are so good!1
I was looking at all the food pictures thinking it was dairy heaven! hehehe

I don't really have any favorites now that I'm dairy free :( It's too hard, I usually don't eat much at parties!!

Boy I'm glad I wasn't invited to your party. I don't have much control lately and would have left with a burst gut! :) The only thing I can think of that's really just a holiday thing for me is egg nog.

I bet you were getting compliments out the yin yang on that spread! So impressive!!

I usually head straight for the chips/crackers/pretzels... I don't buy them very often so when other people buy them for me I go CRAZY!

Can I just tell you that I HATE diet coke but I'm obsessed with coke zero. So coke zero+home alone+shrimp+potstickers= my kind of night! I wish you would post more pics of the hubs and of you! And seriously, get yourself to LA sometime so we can throw a party together!
