1 Week Away

I don't know how it happened, but Christmas is a week away.  I am almost physically ready (the shopping is almost done, and I have baked a bunch of goodies), but I am not mentally ready.  I want some more time to soak it all in, and to enjoy and appreciate the season before it has come and gone.  Christmas is not a stressful time for me in the least.  It is warm, and relaxing, and comforting, and I wish it could last all year long.

After a day of boring eats yesterday (toasted tomato sandwich, soup, yogurt) the hubby and I went out for dinner before doing some Christmas shopping.  We shared a dinner for 2 at Peking House (the same dinner my dad and I had on Monday - yes, it was that good!)

I had 1 spring roll, a small bowl of won ton soup, some sweet and sour pork, mixed veggies and rice (the camera ate some of the pictures):

Dessert was a grapefruit and a handful of chips and dip.
I also snacked on a homemade marshmallow earlier in the day - thanks Sharon!

This morning I grabbed a glo-bar for breakfast and headed to work for a great day.  I enjoyed a small plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy with my students and colleagues at lunch.

The hubby and I had green curry with sticky rice and shrimp for dinner, and an orange for dessert.  I spent the evening Christmas shopping, then came home to watch "The Town" with the hubby.  This was a really good movie, and I snacked on junk while watching it :-)  'Tis the season folks - bring on the junk!

This weekend we are going to a Christmas party and a 50th b-day, and hosting a brunch.

What are your weekend plans?

I am efnitely not ready for Christmas either. I am hoping to get in the spirit while in Vegas next week. It just doesn't feel like Christmas at all. But I suppose that's what happens when you live in a place where it is in the 70's during the holiday season. After growing up in New England, it just doesn't feel right. At all!

I know right? It came so quickly!

We are going Christmas shopping, for a family in need, who we are giving Christmas to this year! That's the very last thing we have on our Christmas to do list!

I can't believe Christmas is SO SOON either. It feels weird not to be home right now as for the last couple of years (being a student) I have gotten 3-4 weeks of holidays around Christmastime. This year I'm only taking 10 days!

I love this time of year also. Though, other people (mainly crazy Christmas shoppers) do tend to stress me out! a

I saw "The Town" back in the theatres and LOVED it. Ben Affleck is a moving-making genius. I probably should have rented THAT last night instead of the movie I did choose: "The Other Guys". I thought Mark Wahlberg would make up for Will Ferrell... I was wrong. I didn't like it at all!

Sounds like you've got a busy weekend! Hope you enjoy it!

I went to a rather awkward Christmas party at a friend's house last night...the host and her hubby and me and my plus one and I were the only people under 60! SOOO crazy :/ Crampy like whoa though today, so I think it's going to be a super chill rest of the weekend.

Oh, I feel you on the whole wanting to absorb it and soak it all in. My life and mind have been such a mess lately that it is all just slipping by me. And it's my favorite time of year.

Oh well, I'll watch a Xmas movie and make do...;) - and eat the S'mores Muffins I just made :)

Yay! I'm glad to know at least one person not grinching about Christmas! I love Christmas too, but maybe it's bc my family and I never do anything extraneous for Christmas...not even gift-giving.

I slept till 8:30 pm today. I'm not kidding.

p.s. do I have you "friended" on Facebook?

I'm not mentally ready for Christmas yet either! My gifts are all bought & wrapped but it doesn't FEEL like it should be next week already!! Yikes!

We had a fun weekend. Friday night we made a yummy shrimp dish. Saturday afternoon I met my friend's baby. Saturday evening to went to a Spanish restaurant for tapas and then to a holiday party. Lots of fun things going on!
