Tofu Steak

Last night we made tofu steak with mushrooms and potatoes.

We enjoyed this with some seaweed and kimchi - a perfect combination together.  The idea for the tofu steak came from this lovely lady.  Christopher whipped up a marinade, and I didn't pay too much attention, but I know it included red wine, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, black pepper and soy sauce.  We cut extra firm tofu down the middle width-wise, and marinated it for about 30 minutes (I bet it would be great left longer, but we didn't have the time).  These were grilled up and served with fried mushrooms on top.  We dipped them in Guinness BBQ sauce - mmmm!

I had never had a tofu steak before, but I must say I was very impressed.  Neither of us is huge on regular steak, but these ... these we will make again!

Do you like steak?  Have you ever had tofu "steak"?
What do you put on your steak?  Any fun plans for the weekend?

I'm looking forward to a delicious dinner this evening, and a couple parties tomorrow.

I love steak, but I have never had tofu steak. I struggle w/ the texture of tofu so generally avoid it...

I like to put either A1 or Heinz 57 on my steak if it's well seasoned. If it's well seasoned, I eat it naked!

My weekend will be pretty quiet as i am worn out from the traveling I did the last 2 weeks. We are probably going out to dinner tomorrow night at this cute place that has board games and old Nintendo and Atari Consols.

We love steak but really only eat it in the summer when it is warm enough to grill!

I love steak! I didn't used to but I do now. I've never had a tofu steak but I'm sure it could be good if seasoned and prepared well.
