Cooking Class Bachelorette Party!

Friends of mine are getting married on Saturday!  The bachelorette/bachelor parties took place last night, and for the bachelorette party we took a cooking class!!  It was something I have always wanted to do.

We were split into two groups of eight.  The first group made the appetizer and potatoes for the main course.  Our appetizer was a white bean dip with veggies and crackers.

I was in the group that prepared the meat, made the soup and the zucchini "fries."  We each cut open and filled our own pork tenderloin.  We also made one giant batch of coconut butternut squash soup, and we each cut up a few small zucchini for the fries (which we just tossed with olive oil and sea salt and baked at 430 F).

It came together really well, and the soup was my favourite part.  I loved the ginger in it.

Throughout the evening we also decorated cookies.  It was the first time I ever made my own decorating bag (out of parchment paper).

It was a yummmmmy evening and a nice change from the usual bachelorette party.

Have you ever taken a cooking class?
Do you have any weddings to go to this year?

We have three already!!!!  I love weddings :-)

What a fun idea for a bachelorette party! I'm assuming the bride likes to cook:)

I am the personal attendent in a wedding in May, so we are starting to plan the bachelorette party - doing a spa day and fun dinner. Nothing too crazy!

I love cooking classes! What a great idea for a bachelorette.
I don't have any friends of my own's weddings this year, but the bf has several he has to attend, which I am sure means I will be going as well.

cooking classes are so fun but so hectic. I feel like my two instructors couldn't handle walking around and managing the 12 people in my class...but that was the ONE cooking class I took. I want a cookie now. Have a great wedding attending day!

That is SUCH a good idea for a bachelorette party! Wish I would have thought of that for mine. I've never taken a cooking class, but I'd love to. And the only wedding on my calendar is my grandparents' 50th anniversary vow renewal. So sweet. =)

What a fun idea for a bach party. I would be up for something like that when/if I get married as i am not a big 'goer outer'.

I am attending a wedding in March, and will be in a wedding in July and in October!

I have not taken a cooking class, but I did take a knife skills class once, which I loved!

3 weddings?! Jealous!! I have one.. well I had 2, but then they were both planned for the same day - one in Calgary and one in California. I guess my choice is obvious, haha. Loved the peek into your cooking class - I've never taken one!
