A Perfect Saturday

We had such a great weekend - Saturday especially.  We had no plans for breakfast, but ended up whipping up some fantastic shrimp and grits.  The shrimp was spicy, the grits were cheesy, and we were happy.

A sprinkle of fresh herbs for colour ...

In the afternoon we headed down the street to see one of my elementary school friends get married!  Congratulations Tricia and Lee!

After the ceremony, while the wedding party was doing photos, we went to The Lobby for some drinks/appies.

The reception in the evening was so fun!  The dinner was absolutely delicious - some of the best food I've ever had at a wedding.

Many of our friends from elementary and high school were at the wedding (Christopher and I went to the same school since he was a little cute kindergartner, and I was in grade 2), and some family was there too!

Christopher's sister Victoria, brother-in-law William, and his brother Steve (Melody, Steve's wife, was in the wedding party)

We caught up with old pals, and then danced pretty much non-stop for the rest of the night.

We were still dancing up the front steps when we got home around 1:30 a.m..  Once we get started ... we can't stop.  I love weekends that are as fun and memorable as this past one was.

We wish the happy couple all the best in their future!  Friends' weddings are the best, especially friends you've known for 20 years!

What was the highlight of your weekend?
How's your week going so far?

Yum, the shrimp and grits looks so good and your plating and presentation are beautiful!!!

The highlight of my weekend was attending a good friend's baby shower. It was so fun to see some college friends and other girls that I have met through my friend and to celebrate the upcoming birth of their first child! They had it at a restaurant that had an awesome brunch, too, so the meal was awesome and I got to have salted caramel ice cream for dessert which is my favorite ice cream flavor these days!!
