Road Tripping

On Friday after work we took off on a little road trip to Saskatoon.  For dinner we ate at Bottega Trattoria.  This was our second time visiting this restaurant, and we haven't been overly impressed so far.  We can make better pasta dishes at home.

On Saturday morning we ate at Aroma, one of our favourite restaurants.  The server brought our bill, but then told us that she always enjoys serving us, she appreciates how friendly we are, and that our breakfast was on the house.  Nice!

We spent the day visiting my mom, and then had dinner at Ayden.  This restaurant is worthy of all the buzz it's been getting; it's fantastic.

We ordered the fries and the peas and carrots as starters, and loved both.

Christopher had the fish as his main course, and I had the chicken and waffles.  The waffle was absolutely incredible, and not like any other I've ever had.  This dish was seriously perfection.

We got chatting with the lovely couple sitting beside us, and we all marveled at how good the food was.  We always seem to make friends when we're out and about.

Dessert was a pumpkin based dish. Mmmm!

After dinner we went out with family Kim and Errol for a visit and a bit of dancing.  We had lunch at Aroma today before visiting my mom more, and then heading home.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?
Did you eat anything delicious?

Yum, looks like a fun weekend full of delicious eats. That is awesome that your breakfast was on the house - seems like that happens to you guys occasionally, which is super cool. Clearly you are great restaurant guests. :)

My weekend was great. I spent lots of time outdoors which is good as I don't know how many nice weekends we'll have left. Some delicious eats were the Thai green curry I had on Friday night, the vegetarian lasagna my friend made with zucchini noodles on Saturday and the burger, fries and malt I had yesterday when we biked to this cute town that is about 15-20 miles from Minneapolis. We earned those calories so ate a lot!
