Scorching & Bands

It has been HOT this week.  I have been trying to spend time outside, seeking out shady spots whenever possible to prevent melting.

Yesterday Allysia and I met in person for the first time at a restaurant called The Rooftop.  As mentioned in my last post, Allysia and I have been bloggy friends for a while and I have seen her wicked sweet band play a couple of times, but we had never met.  We sat up on the roof but had a perfect shaded seat and delicious beverages to keep us cool.

I ordered the lobster dip with pitas and was really impressed.

The pitas were fried which made them so yummy and obviously calorie-free.

In the evening I went to see my very favourite local band, Screaming Daisies.  They put on an amazing show and left the crowd wanting more.

Today I met a bunch of friends downtown for lunch outside and a free concert put on by another local band that I love, The Fortunate Isles.

I had an African peanut curry, which wasn't the most refreshing choice for the scorching day, but still good.

The concert was dancy and fun as always.

Tomorrow I am heading out of town for a weekend-long outdoor music festival.  If you haven't noticed by now, I love music.

Do you take in live music often?  What is the music scene like where you live?  Have you been spending a lot of time outside this so far this summer?  Eating outside?

It's scorching here too! I LOVE eating outside in the summer and go to live music once or twice a week since we have live music in our park every night in the summer!!

I love music, but I have not been taking in much live music. I haven't been to an outdoor music festival in ages, but it's something I'd love to do - I just have a hard time fitting things like that into my summer as it's already SO full of plans.

Enjoy your weekend!!

I LOVE live music. I wish I knew of more local bands around here. I'm sure there are some great ones. Looks like you've been having lots of fun. Yay!

That beer looks HUGE the way I'm holding it, ha ha. :) Thanks for sharing your pita! And now I remember what the drummer looks like...was it Chris? Can't remember. Because I have him on FB as "Handsome B Wonderfull" or something, ha ha. :) I'm sad I didn't get to see Screaming Daisies/Fortunate Isles, stupid illness! But I'm doing a little better now! Good thing we hung out when we did!
