Last Week's Eats

This weekend it finally started to warm up, which I'm pretty happy about.  Winter was getting discouraging.  In the past week when it was still cold, we made a couple warm, comforting meals, like sausage and kale soup:

And beef stew:

We also had breakfast for dinner:

And spiced lamb patties with couscous, and a yogurt sauce:

Most mornings I had toast and fruit for breakfast:

And I made a chocolate pavlova for dessert for the week:

On Friday night it was beautiful, and I was happy to put on a dress and heels and go out for the evening.  We met up with some pals at a tasting event, and had a wonderful evening.

It was so great to head out without having to bundle up.

This weekend we made a few new recipes - more on that in the next post.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

Yay for warming up! It was not a nice weekend here. We got a rain/sleet/snow mix on Saturday night so had to head home from the retirement party a bit earlier than planned. I am soooo over winter. It's going to be in the 40s (F) this week, though, which will feel great. I guess we are getting a rain storm, too? We have about 3' of snow on the ground so hopefully the rain doesn't result in flooding. I'm so ready for spring to arrive. We walked up to the library on Sunday and put Paul in the stroller. It was too wet/sloppy to use his sled but dang it was hard pushing his stroller through the wet, heavy snow. I keep telling myself that eventually winter will end, though!
