Brunch with Friends

On Monday morning we walked over to our friends' house for brunch.  It's really nice that Matt and Alissa live so close to us, and we were excited to spend some time with them and their little ones.

When we arrived Matt (a total tea master) poured us some delicious tea, and we visited on the deck for a while until the food was ready.  Then we moved down to the picnic table in their beautiful yard.

They served up a tasty spread including BBQd sausages, baked beans, eggs, toast, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee.

The beans were fantastic, and I loved the presentation of the eggs in the cast iron pan.  We have never BBQd sausages with breakfast before, but they were so good, so we're definitely stealing this idea!

The nectarine dessert they made was a perfect way to end off this delicious meal.

Matt made more tea after brunch and we enjoyed it on the deck while visiting, and I got a bunch of snuggle time with their new baby.

It's so nice to get together with good friends, and we look forward to spending more time with them this summer.

Do you have any friends who live within walking distance?

That’s awesome that your friends like walking distance away. We don’t have any friends that live that close but the couple we are closest with lives 2 miles away so they aren’t too far away. Most of Phil’s friends live fairly close to us so we spend more time with them than my college friends who mostly live a ways out in the suburbs.

That brunch looked delicious!!
