A couple of months ago we made a whole bunch of perogies. There were still some in the freezer that we decided to cook up tonight. Christopher and I both have some Ukrainian in us, so a love for perogies is in our blood.
We fried them up and then jazzed them up with bacon, onion, shredded cheese, sour cream and chives.
I know someone who puts jam on his perogies!? (Hey Justin!) I've never tried it, but perhaps it's good.

I've only had perogies our local grocery store cooks up occasionally. I always grab the bacon ones and usually dip them in ketchup...hey it's all I have :)
I'm Italian and I love homemade spaghetti. It's the best!
I love perogies! It's hard to pick my favorite Jewish foods, but I guess it's a tie between my mom's chicken soup or an egg bagel toasted with cream cheese, whitefish salad and a slice of tomato. I hope you've gotten to try whitefish salad on one of your many trips to NYC!
I actually do not think I've had perogies. And now I can't have them because of my gluten intolerance. :(
I am a mix of many things, but am mostly German. My favorite food is definitely sauerkraut. Yum!
I'm of Ukrainian descent so perogies are in my blood too. They must be boiled then fried in lots of butter and served with onions bacon and sour cream...like yours! I hate when I see people (not Ukrainian) eating plain boiled perogies...ugh. I always tell them the proper way to make them. Kobasa on the side is great...preferably from Stawnichy's.
Ahh, it seems most of Saskatchewan's population has some Ukrainian. :) And I'm totally with you on the perogie love. Holy crap. And I'm still super impressed you guys made them, it's no light task. I absolutely love perogies topped with (vegan) sour cream and carmelized onions! Yummers!
Perogies are laid everyday by turkeys. God bless turkeys!
