Rewind to St. Patrick's Day

I am blogging on a Friday morning today because I have a 4 day weekend!
No special reason, just one of those perks of being a teacher :-)

Yesterday we had a PD day (staff meeting, planning time).  I fueled for my day with a bowl of oats:

I went out for lunch with colleagues and got a Chinese meal for one.  It was way too much food, so I didn't finish it.  I didn't feel so great after - I won't be ordering this again:

The hubby and I decided we wanted a low key St. Patrick's evening, so we went to our favourite restaurant, 13th Ave. Coffee House (which our friends just became the owners of!!!).

In the Leprechaun spirit I ordered a Lucky Bowl and Guinness:

Instead of going to bed at a reasonable time, I decided to make some magic happen in the kitchen until about 1:30 a.m..  We are having another couple over for dinner tonight, so I did some prep work last night.  I find cooking so relaxing and therapeutic.  It was fun!

This morning I tried a smoothie with this vegan smoothie mix.  I expected this to taste like chocolate, because that is what flavour it is, however all I could taste was berries, and I didn't like it at all.  I wish that there was a chocolate flavour in this brand that did not have berries in it.

Have you ever tried Vega powder?

What is the greatest perk of your job?
What would you do with a 4 day weekend right about now?

The greatest perk of my job is that I only work 200 days a year ...
I am going to spend this long weekend doing homework and hanging out with the hubby and our friends/ family.  We have a fondue dinner tomorrow night!

the best thing about my job right now, is that i get to leave at 2pm (i cut my hours for school purposes) i love having extra time to get homework done.
If i had a 4 day weekend, i would have slept in. had a nice breakfast, and just relaxed for the morning. then would have got a full day of studying in.

I'd say the greatest perk of my job is getting obscure paid holidays because we work for the government.

The greatest perk of my job? Hmm.. Well, the perk for me is that I kind of get paid to read the news, which I think is kind of cool.

If i had a 4 day weekend, but I would probably spend the majority of it studying... but if I had a 4 day weekend after all these exams are behind me, I would use 1 of the days for a 'date day' with my nephew. We'd go out for lunch and then go to a bookstore. Other than that, I would sleep in, go for long runs outside, watch movies, and read!

i love it that you find prep work relaxing. I do. To a POINT! I find reading blogs and sitting on my butt more relaxing :)

I've never tried that Vega powder, but I LOVE the Vega "Shake and Go" smoothie powder that is chocolate! Enjoy the rest of your 4 day weekend... I'm jealous. I'm in charge of our spring break kids camps that start Monday... 2 weeks of camp leaders, campers, and pulling my hair out commence Monday!

You are such a lucky girl! I hope you are enjoying your weekend- I would probably spend mine working on cleaning out my closet, out on walks, and an extra yoga class or two!

I'm excited to see your dinner recap.

I wouldn't say there are too many perks to my job (as I'm not a huge fan), but it does allow me semi-flexible hours. I can always come and go if need be.

BTW...those strawberries in your oatmeal look so good...

Lucky you! Extra days off are always welcome. Being that this is my last few days of Spring Break, I've had quite a lot of "extra" days to spend..of which I was totally lazy. ;)

Well, since I'm currently a student and have no job, I have no perks to go along with one. :)

I would like to say I'd be productive with a 4 day weekend, but I'd probably just get some rest.

Fondue parties are so fun!

If I had a 4 day weekend I would get caught up on school stuff so I could have a social life again!
