Random Eats - No Groceries

We didn't really plan not to buy groceries, but for two weeks in a row we didn't go to the grocery store, and just ate things up around the house.  Some of our dinners were really fancy, like Velveeta mac and cheese:

Haha!  Soooooo good!

We made a shrimp curry over rice:

Pasta with a straight-up jarred sauce:

As you can see, we've really been getting into the gourmet cooking lately ;-)

This was our dinner one evening:

Don't worry.  We got groceries today.  There will be some real cooking around here very soon.

Today we met up with our friend Diana at Flip for lunch.  It was so great to catch up with her and meet her little baby girl!

I had the spaetzle for lunch; it's one of my favourite dishes in town:

We'll be heading out tonight, as Christopher's band has a show.  Tomorrow, we're takin' it easy.

What are you up to this weekend?

I should really take a break from grocery shopping, or at least buy less, and try to eat up some of things in my cupboards! Looks like you still had some good, simple eats!

My weekend was been pretty low key which is nice. We stayed in on Friday and made an enchilada casserole. Last night we went to the recording of "A Prairie Home Companion" which was so much fun and then went out to dinner afterwards. Today will be low key and then I'll go to Phil's mom's house tonight to make dinner for her!

My Chris doesn't cook at all and prior to meeting me was a stereotypical NYC bachelor who ordered out all the time. I've finally gotten him to see the wonders of a well stocked pantry so that even if we don't get to the supermarket we can still make a meal.

We had a pretty chill weekend which was good since I was exhausted and ready to take a break from life.

Wow great job!! That is super impressive. I don't even remember the last time we didn't grocery shop once a week. I'm sure we could get by at least a month with all the food in our fridge/freezer/cupboards though, we definitely don't need to grocery shop so often!
