Roadtrip Weekend: Aroma

My mom's birthday is today, so on Friday, we headed to Saskatoon for a little road trip to visit her.  The weather was quite poor, but we made it safe and sound.

We always stay in the Radisson hotel in Saskatoon, and the restaurant there, Aroma, is absolutely fantastic!  We ate all our meals at Aroma over the weekend.

On Friday night we shared the perogy appetizer.

Then we shared Italiano pizza and spaghetti with meatballs.

The pizzas at Aroma are some of the best we've ever had, and I am absolutely hooked on the spaghetti.

On Saturday morning we had breakfast in the hotel, before heading to see my mom.

We spent the day with her, and then had some hotel room snacks, before heading to Aroma to share a couple appetizers for dinner.

The rangoon appetizer was incredible.

This morning we had breakfast at Aroma again, but I forgot to snap a picture.  We were too busy visiting with the wonderful server Kelly, who's always so friendly and welcoming when we're in town.

My mom turned 58 today, but she is in a care home due to MS, which she's had for about 12 years.  She was out of all of her favourite snacks, so we got her stocked up until we'll be back to see her in December.

Dark chocolate Kit Kat, about 50 cheese strings ... you know, necessities!

It was a wonderful weekend, and we had a great visit.  Christopher also got hit on by a bunch of the old ladies in the home ... ummm.  Hahaha!

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

I hate that your mom has MS. 3 of my friends mom's have it... It's such a terrible disease.

I am glad you guys had a good visit, though! The food at Aroma all looks so good! My weekend has been a good mix of being productive, socializing, and relaxing!! I didn't cook anything this weekend as we ate out Fri/Sat and I ate leftovers today but I did plan out the side dish I will make for Thanksgiving - it's a sauteed sliced brussel sprout salad that looks and sounds really good!
