Lately I have been using a kitchen scale when baking to weigh my ingredients for greater accuracy. It is much easier than trying to measure exactly 5 tablespoons of butter, etc..
I baked some miniature pound cakes recently, 2 lime and 2 pink grapefruit. I bake all year round. Even if it is +40, I am still willing to turn my oven on; that's what air conditioning is for!
The pink grapefruit was my favourite. I used this recipe (substituting lime for the grapefruit in the lime pound cakes).
Do you use a kitchen scale at all? Have you been baking this summer, or do you save baking for cooler weather?

So glad you like my poundcake recipe :)
I do not bake in the summer, mostly because I don't crave baked goods! And I rarely use my oven as I tend to grill things! Those pound cakes look delicious, though!!
I recently received a cookbook only with weighed ingredients so I started using the kitchen scale and love the accuracy it provides!
II don't really bake no matter what the weather is ;) But I do love eating baked goods any time of yours!
A kitchen scale? I barely have measuring spoons. And I'm not kidding!
I use my kitchen scale ALL the time. It's a bit of an obsession for me. lol
I tend to use the oven all through the summer, heat be damned! Because as you said, that's what AC is for. :) I used to have a kitchen scale and it was super handy, though I used it less for baking and more for weighing things like potatoes or what have you, so I could say, "2 lbs potatoes" in a recipe. That kind of thing.
