Workday Mornings

I made a decision that this year I would get up an hour earlier for work than I did last year (6:30 instead of 7:30).  This has allowed me to be more relaxed in the morning, and also to make delicious, complete breakfasts.  This morning I juiced a red pepper and 2 grapefruits, and enjoyed that with a coffee, a toasted egg/chicken/spinach sandwich and strawberries.

It was so nice to enjoy my fresh juice and hot coffee while checking email, watching the news, and slowly eating my breakfast.

I have never had a workday morning like this until the last couple of days, and I am really enjoying having the extra time.  Getting out of bed an hour earlier has been worth it.  Hopping in the shower immediately helps me to wake up, and then I let my hair dry as I make and eat breakfast.  Last year my hair would still be a little wet when I got to work!

What time do you get up in the morning?  Do you feel relaxed in the morning?  Rushed?  What is your morning routine like?

I get up EARLY to work-out in the morning, but also to give myself time to eat breakfast and not feel rushed!

I always sleep as late as possible. I have my routine down to a science though, so I never feel rushed. I've always wanted to be a morning person but I just don't think it will ever happen.

I rush out the door and eat on the run. This year I'm going to get up at 6 to enjoy my ocean run with Matthew before work. I hope to keep this goal. I'm not a morning person .. matthew loves waking up very early to make traditional tea and study for his licensing exam in TCM. This year will be much easier with Matthew done school:)

That's been our goal too! Since Mike and I work opposite hours (he teaches in the day, I teach at night), it's really nice to get to see each other in the morning instead of rushing around. And having a yummy, leisurely breakfast is like the icing on the cake. :)

I get up sometime between 5 and 5:30, depending on my schedule and whether I need to workout before work. It was a rough adjustment at first but now it's not too bad and I think it's turned me into a morning person. Granted, I could get up 30 minutes later and still get to work on time, but I like to have time to make breakfast (like scrambled eggs) and read blogs and respond to emails. I can't access blogs or personal email at work as they are blocked, so I really try to utilize that time to stay on top of things!
