Surpise Party!

By the time you are reading this my dad has probably turned 70 years old! His birthday is Monday, May 30th.

Happy Birthday Dad!

My sister and I organized a little surprise for him a while back, and on Friday we saw it come together.  We took my dad to a restaurant called Teppanyaki, and he assumed it was just going to be the three of us, as it has been in previous years for his birthday.
When he walked into the private room, he was greeted by family from out of town (some from another province), friends from work, and other loved ones.

He was definitely surprised!

We ate a wonderful dinner that was cooked in front of us, and then everyone came over to my place for coffee and cake.

This morning we also took our dad out for breakfast to The Fireside.

I had the New Orleans eggs Benedict.

It has been a wonderful weekend.

Have you ever thrown a surprise party?
Has anyone ever thrown you one?

I threw a surprise party for my husband a couple years ago! He had NO idea, well... until we got to the parking lot and he recognized all the cars. Oops! It was still a blast to organize!

Oh fun! I am glad that you pulled this off. It is tough to pull of a surprise party! I helped throw one for my cousin in college, but I think that's the only one i"ve been part of or attended!

And my family KNOWS not to throw me one because I do NOT like surprises. I realize this makes me sort of a fun hater! But it's just how I am!

I've always wanted to go to Teppanyaki, but still haven't. Don't know why?

A few people threw my dad a surprise party for his 50th. My siblings, mom, and I are too smart to ever throw one for him - he does NOT like surprises AT ALL. I'd like to do a surprise party for my husband sometime...

Oo, that's so adorable. Your dad must have really enjoyed it.
And the breakfast looks delicious.
I've never had a surprise party, and nor have I thrown one. My family really doesn't do them, I guess.

I never got the idea of a surprise party, probably because I don't like surprises! My friends tried to throw one for me but I found out beforehand.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your dear dad!!! xD
