Happy Halloween!!!!!

L

ast night the hubby and I went to a Halloween party.

I was batman.

The mask was very uncomfortable, so I opted for makeup later on in the evening.

There was a lot of great food, and awesome costumes!

Layered dip
Bread sticks with blood tomato sauce.
Cake pops

A few of you asked for the cake pop recipe.  You can find it here.

Edward Cullen

League of Their Own Character, and Freddy Mercury

Elin Woods
Devil, Sookie, Cigar Guy, Edward, Creepy Clown (the husband), Wenda, League of Their Own, Freddy Mercury

Vyvyan from "The Young Ones" and Wenda
Lego Man!!!!!
It was a fun night!  I nibbled on a bit of the food, and drank a few glasses of wine throughout the evening.

This morning I made some festive oats for breakfast:

Chocolate Pumpkin Pie Oats

- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 cup unsweetened Chocolate Almond Breeze
- 2 T pumpkin
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 4 drops Vanilla Stevia (sample from NuNaturals)
- 1 tsp chocolate chips
- 1 graham cracker

Bring Almond Breeze to a boil.  Add oats.  Stir 1 minute.  Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 3-5 minutes.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Mix pumpkin with spice and stevia.  Top oats with pumpkin mixture and 1 crumbled graham cracker.

A friend from school came over this afternoon so we could work on a presentation for class.  She brought me a pumpkin spice latte.  When we were done our work, I wrote a paper for another class.  I snacked on 2 mini bags of Cheetos while writing:

Dinner was a Hay Stack (rice, cheese, taco beef, salsa, black olives, and taco chips):

How was your Halloween?  How many kids did you get?
What is your favourite Halloween treat?

Mini Mars Bars... Snickers too. Only because they are so ridiculously sweet that I can never bring myself to buy the full-size versions. YUM!

i can't get over how you cook ridiculously amazing things, host awesome parties, work, AND go to school. Kudos! I usually go to a halloween party but this year had to work and was lazy. BOO! :(

Love the costumes!! Everyone looks great! We didnt dress up, but our nephew was adorable as nemo! It was way to cute! I spent the night munching on pizza and watching baseball with my father in law!

What a cool party! So fun!! Love that the food was so festive.

I didn't count how many trick-or-treaters we had this year. I usually do, but it seemed like a hassle yesterday. We did run out of candy by 8pm, though, so I think we had lots of kids.

I slept too early (7pm) on Halloween and missed all the children. Good thing, since I ate all their candy. Muhaha.

I like the make-up more!! You look very very sexy, Jolene! Hee hee. And for god's sake, for the umpteenth time, I really, really want to HANG OUT with you!!! You always have the best fun, and your friends seem super super lively and cool!

Love the batman costume! My friend wore one a few years back (mask and all) and she was hilarious! We were doing a pub crawl and I don't know how many people asked to stop and take pics with her!

The costumes were so creative! I must admit though--the Halloween-theme food was the most impressive! The green breadsticks are so cool...and the cake pops are awesome!

Unfortunately we only got 2 Trick-or-Treaters at our house! Our neighborhood is filled with lots of elderly people, so the few little guys we have travel to other neighborhoods.

Happy Halloween :)

Haha! That's the first person I've seen dressed up as Edward Cullen. You would think that would be a really popular costume.

Looks like a fun party.

Love your costume! What fun pics. Those bread sticks look like snap peas - craziness.

Lovin' the chips and graham cracker additon. I live in an (old, ahem) apartment building, so yeah, no kids - which is probably a good thing cause I already have lots of "leftover" candy here as is ;).

Still reading even though I'm not bloggin' :(. But :) to read.
