Oats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nom, nom, nom.

(1/2 cup almond breeze, 1/2 cup coffee, 1/2 cup quick oats, 1 mashed banana, almond butter, sprinkle of coconut, and 4 macaroon chocolates). The right way to start the morning!

By 10:00 this morning I had a killer headache. I rubbed my temples while trying to convince twenty-six 13 year olds that working quietly is the new awesome.

They were easily duped.

When the Advil finally kicked in around 1:00, I must have given off a "she's back" vibe, because pretty quickly annoying the teacher and trying to give her another headache were the new awesome.

Lunch was leftover stir fry, an orange, and some cheese:

(Not too pretty, but tasty nonetheless).

I went to a meeting after work, and then came home to make Italian sausages (from a wonderful local Italian deli) and brown rice topped with pico de gallo:

The Italian sausages were the best I have ever had.

I am going to make myself a Green Monster, and watch Grey's with the man.

Do you get headaches? How often? What causes them? What is your remedy?

I used to get headaches all the time, but now I get about one a month - a bad one. I get nauseated, and often throw up. As much as I hate to take medication, I do for headaches because otherwise I would have no life for at least a day. I have no idea what causes them, but I think it may be when things in my life are out of balance (sleep, diet, etc.).

Oats and a Little about Me

This morning I woke up and made some lovely, colourful oats. I used 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond breeze, and 1/2 cup of quick oats. I topped them with blackberries, strawberries, and pineapple.

I received a couple of questions in my comments section yesterday/ this morning, and instead of replying in the comments or privately, I thought I would post the answers here in case any one else is wondering the same thing.

Anais asked: Are you doing a masters?

No - I am not doing a masters, yet. I finished my BEd degree in 2004 and became a teacher. I immediately started my BA in Psychology, and finished all the requirements for that in Dec. 08. I discovered at the last minute that I only had 3 classes left and I would have an honours degree in Psych., so I canceled my graduation, and am finishing the last of those 3 classes right now. I will be done my BA Honours this Dec., and then I am going to take a semester off for the first time in 9 years, and just relax and enjoy life. In the fall of 2010 I may do something else with school, but I am not sure yet. I have done 2 masters classes, but I am not in the program. If I do apply and get in, I can use them as credit at that time.

SimplyLife asked: What are you writing your thesis about?

I am doing my honours thesis in the cognitive psychology area. I am looking at whether or not a participants perception can be influenced by the order in which information is presented. More specifically, how the primacy and recency bias influence participants judgment of the mean size of a set of circles. I am keeping this brief, so as not to bore you to death.

I am off to do a workout and them have a light lunch in a couple hours.
Have a great day peeps.

Free Lunch

Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch?
Today I was at another workshop, and we had another awesome, catered lunch. It was corn chowder soup:

And the fix'ns to make sandwiches.
I took a piece of the SOFTEST bread EVER, and ripped it in half. On it I put 1 slice of turkey deli meat, mustard, and lettuce. I also had a pickle:

It is so uncomfortable trying to take a picture of your food in front of a room full of people you don't know - luckily only the girl beside me saw (that I know of).

Breakfast this morning was oats topped with banana and almond butter:

And last night before bed I had this:

Later tonight I will post my dinner - Vegetarian Recipe #2 of 10!

I haven't been able to go for my runs lately, as it always seems to be raining/ psycho windy when I try to go. No, I have not abandoned my training program! I am looking forward to my next run! - Strange to say, but true!
