Vegas Vacation Part 1

A couple of Fridays ago (11th) we were off to Saskatoon to visit my mom.  We spent the evening with her, and then had a late dinner in our hotel.

On Saturday morning we got up early, had breakfast, and then spent the day with my mom, before heading home that evening.

Quiznos subs before hitting the highway:

We got to bed by about 8:30 p.m., as we had to be up at 3:00 a.m. to get to the airport.  Our friends Matt and Alissa (and their little girl) were on the same flight as us to Calgary, so we got to visit with them while waiting to board, which was really nice.

A friend upgraded us to plus seating for our flights - yay!

A quick hour over to Calgary, followed by just over two to Las Vegas, and we were in our hotel by 10:30 a.m.!  They were able to get us into our room right away, so we were settled in early and ready to explore the beautiful Cosmopolitan hotel.

We had stayed in this hotel once before, but a lot has changed since about three years ago.  We booked the same type of room we had last time, a one-bedroom terrace suite.

There was some loud construction happening above us so we were upgraded to a fountain view room.

You could watch the fountains from the tub!

We had lunch at Momofuku, with kimchi to start, ramen for me, and ginger scallion noodles for Christopher.

For dinner we went to the classy Japanese restaurant, Zuma.  We had sashimi and the rice hot pot with vegetables and loads of black truffle.

We couldn't stop raving about the truffle rice.

Our vacation was off to a great start!

How was your week?  What are you up to this weekend?

What whirlwind weekend leading up to your Vegas trip! But it's nice that you were in Vegas at 10:30 and could check into your room right away. Your first couple of meals looked awesome!!

We spent this past weekend camping in northern Minnesota at a state park off the shores of Lake Superior. The weather was amazing and we did so much hiking so it was a great weekend!
