Sunday Brunch

On Sunday morning Christopher's parents had us over for brunch.  It was a lovely day, and we enjoyed sitting outside in their backyard.

We visited over bevvies, while enjoying bagels, with cream cheese and smoked salmon to start.

And a salmon dip on chips:

My mother-in-law baked delicious blueberry muffins:

So pretty, and absolutely scrumptious!

She also made this flawless quiche:

She sent us home with some leftovers of both - lucky us!

We had the muffins and quiche with a variety of fresh fruit on the side to round the meal out.

We rarely eat breakfast outside (other than when camping), so this was such a treat.  I want to make a point of eating outside more often; summer is so short in Saskatchewan, so we might as well make the most of it.

The food was spot-on, as it always is at my in-laws.

The rest of our Sunday was spent running errands, beautifying our yard, and then sitting back and enjoying it while BBQing.

Have you eaten outside yet this year?  Do you ever have breakfast, or even just coffee outside in the morning?

Yum, that brunch looked amazing - especially the quiche! I love brunch so much!

We ate pretty much all of our meals outside when we were in Hawaii, which was wonderful. One of my favorite parts of the vacation was reading and drinking coffee on the lanai while Phil slept. It was so peaceful to be out there with a view of the ocean!

At home, we do not eat outside all that much. Part of it is because we have a very needy kitty who gives us the saddest faces when we sit on the patio. Ha. We will often have drinks out on the deck, though. We did that last night and it was so nice. Our patio set is really small so eating out there isn't ideal. But we are planning to buy a new home in the next year (in the same neighborhood - we just want a bit more space for when we hopefully have a family) and I definitely want to get a bigger patio set so we can eat outside more!
