Three Meals Out

On Friday evening we went out with my colleagues to celebrate some friends who are retiring this year.  We had dinner at The Chimney.  The portions were huge, and the food was pretty good.  The meals came with giant salads to start, and then I had the salmon.

On Saturday morning we drove to Saskatoon to see my mom.  We had lunch at Mardi Gras Grill

This restaurant serves southern-style food.  It's not as good as the stuff we make at home, but we did enjoy it, and we would go back.  We really liked the mac and cheese and grits.

Christopher got the shrimp po boy with grits, and I had the fried chicken dinner.  We shared everything.

After visiting my mom, we basically just went back to the hotel to chill out and relax.  We didn't feel like going out again, so we ordered some room service for dinner that evening.

The next morning we decided to try Two-Gun Quiche House for breakfast.  It was more of a lunch restaurant than a breakfast place.  I ended up getting the broccoli cheddar quiche with soup.

Christopher had the pulled pork sandwich with soup.

The food tasted really homemade, and the prices and service were great!

After breakfast we spent a few more hours with my mom before heading out on the highway.  It was a busy, but wonderful weekend.

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

Looks like a fun weekend! I love that you and Christopher often share what you order at restaurants. Phil and I do that sometimes but we should do it more often!

My weekend was great! We got Phil's cat on Friday, my parents came on Saturday and helped with a couple of things around my place and then we went to a family wedding that night. And then Sunday we went to brunch and church and then they left and I went on a long bike ride and spent a lot of time in the kitchen prepping meals for the week!
