y holidays have started out quite busy.
First of all, I think the sushi that the hubby and I ate on Friday made us sick, because neither of us felt great this weekend, and I had severe stomach pain all day Sunday, resulting in being very sick Sunday evening.
Saturday night we toughed through the stomach pain and headed out to our friends' bachelor and bachelorette parties.
I donned my little black, leather dress that I bought the other day (Calvin Klein, from Winners):
I actually did something with my hair for once ...
But nothing too special.
We started the evening at a restaurant called Crave.
I had a shrimp appetizer, and then the trout with potato salad. It was all pretty good.
We laughed, visited and had a nice time, before heading to a club.
I still wasn't feeling great, so I has pretty mellow for the remainder of the evening.
Sunday morning I still wasn't feeling well, and could barely eat anything. I went to the my friend's bridal shower in the afternoon and tried to nibble on the delicious spread, but just wasn't feeling it. I ended up getting quite sick later in the evening, but am finally feeling much better today.
Yesterday, Monday 4th July, I started my summer grad class.
Today we had our first exam.
Tonight I have to read a couple hundred pages.
I have a paper due on Thursday.
This is going to keep me pretty busy!
My summer eats have looked a little something like this so far ...
My summer meals usually include a lot of fruits and veggies. I snack on them throughout the day, and also drink a LOT more water in the summer than I do throughout the rest of the year. I think it makes a big difference that I am home and have more time.
How is your eating/drinking different in the summer than the rest of the year?
Or does it stay the same?

At least summer classes don't drag on!
I eat more salads and fresh veggies in the summer, and usually drink iced tea (Starbucks unsweetened shaken black iced tea most often) instead of hot tea.
Hope you're feeling better!
I find I'm less into cooking and more into salads, sandwiches and smoothies in the summer.
Glad to hear you're feeling better! Sucks to be sick on a long weekend..
Love the dress, Jolene! You look smoking hot- for real. And the shoes look perfect with the dress :)
I eat a lot more fruit and veggies during the summer and more cold foods in general. Summer basically rules.
oh no! sorry to hear you weren't feeling well - hope the stomach bug is gone by now!
I would imagine it would not be hard to get in the summer grove with all that amazing food! Wow! I am hungry now!
Wow, you have been a busy lady! That class sounds intense!
I'm glad you are feeling better, 'food poisoning' is NO fun!!
I enjoy a lot more smoothies (drinking one now actually) and sweet fruit in the summer (berries, watermelon, etc).
Mmm, your summer eats look delicious. Now I wish I had a grapefruit in my crisper drawer...and hopefully you're feeling better!
I didn't feel great this weekend either. I wonder if something is going around? Still loving that dress!
Wow that's a lot of work! I got sick over the weekend too....no fun! I seem to consume more ice cream in the summmer.....haha

I'm so sorry you got sick! That happened to me last time I had sushi, too.

You look gorgeous in that dress!!
That is a bummer that you got sick. Not fun at all. :(
My summer eating habits are much different - I eat way way way more produce and I tend to eat less, which is odd becuase I am more active!
Good luck with your class - it is off to an intense start!!
Love your leather dress....you look so darn cute!! I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies in the summer. I love fresh cut up veggies with garlic hummmus. Feel better:)
I LOVE fresh salads and fresh fruits/veggies with a glass of white wine in the summer.
