Rainy Days and Freezies

R

ainy mornings
call for a bowl of warm oatmeal, with loads of toppings of course.

(1 cup vanilla almond breeze, 1/2 cup quick oats, 1/2 banana, 4 strawberries, 1 t coconut, 1 T White Chocolate Dream PB).

In a continued effort to re-fill my body with nutrients after a carb-laden vacation, I ate a bunch of veggies at lunch:

Along with leftover stir fry:

An orange:

And some yogurt and granola:

I haven't been able to run the last 2 days (although my training plan called for it) because all the walking I did in NY has finally kicked in. I need to give my legs a little rest. I should be good to go by tomorrow. I need to be. I have a 5k race on May 30th, and a long way to go!

Dinner this evening was a half a falafel pita (4 falafels, cucumber, tomato, tzatziki, hummus, and a sprinkle of cheese) with a spinach salad on the side.

Dessert was a grapefruit and a FREEZIE!!! Many of you do not know what a freezie is! Once you see the pic, I am sure you will know. I think the term "Freezie" is a Canadian word, as Wikipedia informed me, the most popular brand of this treat in Canada is called "Mr. Freeze."

So, if not a freezie, what do you call it?

We had a major thunderstorm today in Regina. I LOVED it. What is your view on thunderstorms? Love 'em or hate 'em?

Oh boy...I am so glad I'm Canadian. I love Freezies hehe..THE WHITE = LOVE.

Walking is such a good exercise...most people don't even know it until they walk all over for a few days..then bam..it sets in lol. Hope you will be in tip top shape for training soon! :)

Eats look good for today...especially breakfast..makes me want to enjoy some oatmeal soon!

I enjoy a good thunderstorm...but usually only when I'm home and can curl up on the couch!

LOl that's what I assumed a freezie is...my fave is the "blue color"...I guess blue raspberry? Anyways, I HEART raining days and thunderstorms...as long as I'm not IN them...but rather at home already!

I don't really love thunderstorms - once in a while they're okay if I can be indoors and warm, but I prefer the sun :)

We call it a freezie here in Minnesota. My kids love them.

I do the same think with packing the veggies in after vacation. :-)

"Freezie" is Canadian? Really?

Good choice with the white one!

I'm training for a 5k too! In June, though. I'm really excited.
I'm from Toronto, a fellow Canadian, so I also call those freezies.
I'm indifferent to thunderstorms really...as long as I'm inside.
Hope you have a great day!

OTTER POP! My husband loves those. Now I totally know what your talking about :)
Your oatmeal look amazing as always.
I adore t-storms. I really enjoy rain (prob cause we never get it in socal), so when a big storm comes in I take it all in. My gma used to be so horrified of them that she would have to take a bath lol She literally would hide in the bath tub. So funny

Ohhhhh now I know what it is! I call it an ice pop - not very creative, I know. I love the purple kind!

I love thunderstorms, as long as I'm not driving in one!

I'm not sure what we call those here, but I used to love them when I was younger. We would always eat them while swimming at my Grandma's house.

Looks like you're going strong on clean, good eating since vacay!!

I love thunderstorms! Especially when I'm off work and can curl up on the couch and watch some TV or a movie. Perfect!

I love falafel and could eat it every day I think!!

And I also love thunderstorms :) Although for me to really appreciate them, they have to happen when I'm not out and about... Only when I'm cuddled up inside, please ;)

I'm a Canuck - Freezies rock!! I loved them as a kid and always used to *steal* them when I was babysitting ;)..they would turn your tongue some funky colors though...
Rest your legs girl!!! Walking does way more than you think ...sometimes people "rest" by walking but I think you should do nothing at all...which I'm doing a HECK of a lot of lately...
Love your eats. hmmm -"sprinkle of cheese"...what is this "sprinkle"?? I know no limits with cheese....
