Meat Cookies - Because Chocolate Chip is soooo Last Year.

On Friday I felt like some bacon.

I didn't put it in the baked eggs that I had for breakfast ... although, clearly that was a mistake.

Instead, I covered it in 3 T brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon and baked it for 20 minutes to make cinnamon sugar candied bacon.

Then, the cinnamon sugar, candied bacon somehow happened to fall right into a bowl of melted chocolate!

I have absolutely no idea how that happened.

Then, when I wasn't looking, that sneaky, chocolate covered, candied bacon, jumped right into my peanut butter cookie dough!

I was left with no other option other than to stir it in and hope for the best.

I was quite pleased with these meat cookies.  You would be too.  Unless of course you are a vegetarian/vegan, in which case - I am sorry.

The bacon made me do it.

Check out Jessica's blog for the recipe.

What is the strangest thing you have eaten bacon in?
Do you like the combination of sweet and salty?

Oh my goshhhhhh. Since they have bacon in them I'm assuming it would be fine for me to eat them for breakfast today.

I love sweet and salty. I don't really care for bacon, but put it in a cookie and I could probably get on board ;)

I can't answer your question, 'cause I've never eaten bacon (never eaten either beef or pork and now I'm a vegetarian).
But I do like the combo of salty and sweet - when its done right. Your cookies look like a good example of combining salty and sweet - and I bet they are delicious.

My mom made cupcakes that had bacon in them or in the frosting or something? And then there was a crispy piece of bacon top of the cupcake. They weren't gluten free, so I didn't try them, but they did look delish.

I have eaten bacon on a stick at the fair, which was delicious!

I LOVE sweet and salty... I made a similar cookie once with potato chips instead of bacon. I'll bet they're delicious!! And I got such a laugh out of your macadamia nut cluster story... omg Rocky Mountain chocolates are good!

That's MY kind of cookies! I hate chocolate chip, I just can't stand it. Bacon would give it the savory, salty kick I crave!

Loooooove the look of those....must make immediately!

I love the combination of sweet and salty. I love a bowl of popcorn with either a side of chocolate or little chocolates mixed into the popcorn bowl.

Yum.
