Christmas Day - Vegas Style

We woke up on Christmas morning, and opened our stockings and gift.

We grabbed breakfast in our hotel.  I had chicken and waffles, and Christopher had eggs, toast, etc..

In the evening we went over to the Venetian to Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico.  The breads that are brought out before the meal are out-of-control good!  They are like little yorkshire puddings.

We started with the steak tartare.

Next we shared a spinach salad.

It was perfect.

I ordered the salmon, Christopher had the duck, and then we shared some grits as a side.

We were really impressed with our meal, and the service at Delmonico

It may not have been a traditional Christmas, but it was wonderfulTonight we're getting together at my sister's place for turkey dinner and presents with my family.

How did you spend Christmas day?

Yum, all of that food looks so amazing! I bet it was nice to celebrate Christmas with just you and Chris! :) On Christmas Day we woke up at Phil's mom's and had a simple breakfast of oatmeal with lots of toppings. Then she made turkey and mashed potatoes and all the fixing for dinner and we opened presents. We left around 4 and did the 3 hour drive up to my parents and ate leftovers and chatted with my grandma before my dad took her back to the assisted living center. We capped off the night with a game of rummy which was really fun. Phil and I were VERY tired by the end of the night, though!!

Oh man you guys got to eat well on Christmas Day!!!

We had our big dinner on Christmas Eve, which I think is the way to go! That way on Christmas Day you can just relax all day and pick at leftovers. We really just hung around on Christmas Day and then played games in the evening. Nothing too exciting or special but great just the same :)
