Last night we hosted our annual Christmas party. We spent Friday evening prepping so that Saturday was a breeze. The house was decorated, the food was pretty much ready to go, and I even had time to curl my hair.
The hubby and I poured a drink before our friends started to arrive.
We greeted our guests with cranberry orange sparklers (1 cup cranberry cocktail, 1/3 cup Cointreau, equal parts sparkling wine and ginger-ale).
Then ... we ate ... and ate.
We also did a little gift exchange game that is a Christmas party tradition at our house. I bought a ukelele kit complete with ukelele for $22 at Costco - I thought it was an amusing gift :-) I ended up with some artisan beer <3.
We were up very late last night, but we slept in for the first time in ages, and then the hubby made breakfast with mimosas. He made my bacon just how I like it - SUPER crisp. If it can't snap, it is not done.
We spent the day Christmas shopping, watching movies, and just hanging out (while eating some junk).
What a great weekend!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
How do you like your bacon - soft, crisp, super crisp?
What is your favourite Christmas movie?

That looks like a lot of fun!!
Also, I think we have the same couch!! Is yours from the Brick? I love ours. SO comfy!
That seems like so much fun and you are quite the hospitable host!
I like my bacon crispy, as well...with a side of hashbrowns and a runny egg on top!
beautiful place... have fun with your friends.
you always throw the best parties...and your home is gorgeous!
Ah...next year fly me to Canada so I can come! Looks like a great time, with great food.
It is weird that I only eat bacon "in stuff", I don't usually just pick up a piece to eat.
Favorite xmas movie is Christmas Vacation and The Christmas Story.
I like bacon all of those ways. I'm not too particular with it. Looks like the party was a lot of fun!
Looks great!
I don't really care for bacon, but when I do eat it I like it chewy :)
Looks like so much fun. What a great "gift" for the exchange.
Food as always looks great :)
Wow, what an incredible spread. You amaze me, lady!!
I like my bacon just like you do - extra crispy! :) And my favorite holiday movie is either Love Actually or The Holiday!
Oh my gosh it looks like you had fun and the food looks amaaazing!!
I feel the same way about bacon!!! Extra crispy!
Fav Xmas movie....could never choose. I watched Home Alone 1 & 2 Sunday, and I love White Christmas, Elf, Santa Claus, Miracle on 34th St, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful Life,Love Actually....and on and on. haha.
The highlight of my weekend was spending 2 hours at a mediclinic because my daughter had a corneal abrasion! The rest of the weekend was spent studying, unfortunately. Only 4 days left to go, though :) I like crisp bacon. Favourite Christmas movie is Elf, or maybe Love Actually (that counts, right?).
What a beautiful home! The party looks like so much fun and the food looks amazing! I love Home Alone and Love Actually and don't eat bacon :)
What a gorgeous party! You are one fabulous host. All of your food, snacks, and decorations are perfect!
My favorite christmas movies are Elf (never gets old!) and Serendipity. I don't think the latter is technically a "Christmas" movie but it takes place during Christmas time so I count it. :)
nice spread.. did you make everything?
Yep!
Do you end up with many leftovers with all that food? It looks phenooooomenal!! My fave Christmas movie is "The Santa Clause" - without a doubt.
love bacon crisp...but not super crispy cause i can't taste it. Once again a fabulous night you hosted!
Everything looks delicious!
Is one of the cookies on the cookie tray a chocolate dough surrounding a york peppermint patty? I ask because I recently made some and it looks similar.
Fav Christmas movie: Scrooged. I love Bill Murray.
